Some might say I live in a fantasy world…Cool!!! I am a 60 year old woman who still has the heart of a 10 year old girl. I have a room in my home that is pink and stuffed full of me. It’s my comfy spot, my hideout and my safe haven. There are stuffed animals galore, who I know talk to each other when I’m not in there, My porcelain Gibson Girl figurines who look down their noses at everyone, a few collector Barbies still cool and beautiful as ever…she’s a bit older then I am yet still no wrinkles or sag-how does she do it…bookshelves crammed with a myriad of books, treasures and framed photos of loved ones smiling back at me.
When I go to Disneyland I’m as bad as the grandkids…for I forget when I’m talking to Tinkerbell that she’s an actress and I’m glad that I do. I’m blessed with 3 granddaughters ranging in ages from 22 mos. to 10 years of age. I’m so blessed as I still get to watch mermaid teen adventures with my oldest, watch for glimpses of fairies and their twinkling fairy dust lights just before dark with my 5 year old and the joy of teaching all these mystical wonders to my littlest one.
I see the realist over in the corner a wrinkle between his brow and a look of “astound” on his face … Mermaids, Fairies, Leprechauns, a roll of the eyes… God? Sadly, many live in a world where if I can’t see it, touch it or smell it then it isn’t real…End of Conversation…or is it!
It can be the end of the conversation, I don’t want to make any assumptions that a realist can’t believe in a spiritual being but it’s probably just a bit harder. You can’t see the air but it’s there, you can see the affect the air has but you can’t see it…we can’t see electricity but we can see it’s affect when we turn on the lights.
Same goes with God!!! We can’t see him in the tangible form but his affects are everywhere, that is if you believe he is our creator. All you have to do is look around you: the sunrise/sunset, the high and low tides of the ocean, the breeze whispering through the trees, the beautiful smell of flowers wafting by, the vast sky and his awesome cloud paintings. The peace you get in your spirit when you whisper his name.
The tomb was empty, strips of burial cloth everywhere; where is Jesus? That Sunday evening after the tomb was discovered empty some of the disciples we’re meeting when all of a sudden Jesus appeared right before their eyes. “Peace be with you”, he said and showed them his scars and hands. The disciples we’re overjoyed!!!
One of the twelve disciples Thomas of the Doubting Thomas’s told the others, “I won’t believe until I see the nail holes in his hands and put my fingers in them, and place my hand into the wound on his side”. John 20:26-28a NLT “8 days later the disciples we’re together again and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. ‘Peace be with you’, he said. Then he said to Thomas, Put your finger here, and look at my hands, put your hand into the wound on my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!!!
John 20:29 NLT “Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me”.
You can see him, he’s everywhere from the grandeur of mountains to the innocent smile of your first baby. Reach out take his hand, ask him to stroll with you as you breathe the fresh air we’re blessed with and the glorious beauty your surrounded in…ask him to help you … Believe!!!
Make it a peaceful day. I pray for sunshine in your skies and a smile in your heart. Have a Blessed Day!!! Thank you for joining me 🥰
