Trusting!

Trust is not a very solid word these days!

Trust: Firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something; a hope of expectation.”

There was a day when someone’s word and a handshake were all needed to complete a deal or transaction. In biblical days, they shook hands and gave one of their sandals.

Ruth 4:7 NLT “Now in those days it was the custom in Isreal for anyone transferring a right of purchase to remove his sandal and hand it to the other party. This publicly validated the transaction.”

Don’t get me wrong, we all have people and places in our lives whom we trust. The problem with putting all our trust in man or manufactured things is they are of a man.

We aren’t perfect; things happen, and events take place. “That’s life,” right? Right! Things will change, wear out, erode, break down, and fall apart without daily maintenance.

Let alone the snakes in the grass who don’t bear a conscience and cheat, lie, deceive, and tear down without a second thought!

Where does that leave us as a human race? We’ve become weary and overly cautious (a good thing). We are gun-shy and trepid in our associations, only allowing a portion of ourselves to be rather than joining in with our whole hearts. We have become reserved!

So, stop putting your trust entirely in man and put your hope and faith in God, allowing him to put people in your world whom you can trust and rely on!

Psalm 9:10 ESV “And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O’ Lord have not forsaken those who seek you.”

Romans 8:28 ESV “And we know that those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to your purpose.”

Psalm 28:7 ESV “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and my song I give thanks to him.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8 ESV “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

Psalm 112:7 ESV “He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.”

Hebrews 13:8 ESV “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

There’s the trust you can rely on, stand on and expect! ❤️

It’s A New Day

Good morning, Today is a new day…what are your plans? How did you start your morning? Was it turning on the news? Goin out for a morning run? Grumbling at the kids or spouse? Depressed already because you have to go to a job you hate or have to go job searching which is daunting in itself? Often how we start our day can set the tone for the rest of it.

I’m not a morning person just ask my husband…I prefer to be left alone, grab a cup of coffee, sit, look up and say, “good morning Lord Jesus”, sit and sip some more before I then grab the first of my 3 devotionals that I am reading this year and start my day!!! The world is so ugly these days, news is filled with death, destruction, more change then most of us can keep up with and much uncertainty. I find that starting my day with the Lord and his word or words of a great Christian writer makes all the difference. You feed your body with breakfast food for nourishment, try also feeding your mind with: Positiveness, Love, Peace and Joy…15 minutes of quiet time with him will make all the difference.

I am one by nature who struggles with change how about you? Even when the change is good and wanted I still have to go through the gamut of emotions. SO, in a world of constant change I challenge you to take the time to get to know the one thing in your life that will never change and that is God!!! Hebrews 13:8 NIV “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” I find that to be one of the most comforting scriptures in the Bible. My age will change and with that my appearance, my home location, job or both, our world is fast and ever changing and if you find that scary or feel like you are on a merry go round going Mach 4…Look up and say…Good Morning Lord Jesus, I need you today, tomorrow and forever…He will meet you wherever you are. He’s just waiting !!! Have a Blessed Day…thank you for joining me . 🥰❤️⚓️
