No Pajamas Today…

Good Morning and Happy Sunday!!! I’m incredibly excited today as I meet and listen to my pastor in real life today…Yep, that means I have to take off the pajamas. As many of you know, I listen to Calvary Galveston, Pastor James Grizzle, and I brag I get to do so in my pajamas because my church is in Texas and I am in Oregon…

Thanks to the internet, which has brought both good and evil, and as with most things in life, we choose what brings either result. We are blessed to have a myriad of information about any topic we can think of at our fingertips; there’s self-help do’s, how-to-do’s, what to do’s, and yes, what we should do’s…including church services outside your home state.

Matthew 24:14 NLT “And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world so that all the nations will hear it, and then the end will come.”

This is a prophecy we are living in! Radio, TV, Internet are the same avenues the Lord uses to spread his word and love as Satan does his smut so, if you are looking for a church service that teaches straight from the Bible’s pages. Accurate word, no agendas, non watered down version that tells us that whatever we feel is right is!!! The actual word of God…come to church with me this morning. http://www.calvarygalveston.com service is 10 a.m., c.s.t, which makes it 8 a.m., p.s.t for me…hence the usual pajamas.

I pray for you a blessed day, a day of sunshine and peace in your heart. Thank you for joining me. 🥰 I’m off to get dressed.

Chariots of Fire…

In the book of 2 Kings we are introduced to Elisha. He was the prophet who continued the efforts of Elijah in restoring proper worship back to the Israelites. He was a model in teaching righteousness and faith.

He, of course, doing the Lord’s call, taught ways that went against many acts and beliefs of the kings and people around him. He spoke the truth and made many mad as what he said went entirely against their practices and beliefs. The story continues with Elisha’s servant waking one morning to a furious king’s army. Troops, horses, and chariots everywhere.

2 Kings 6:15b NIV “Oh, sir, what will we do now?’ The young man cried.”

2 Kings 6:16-17 NIV “Don’t be afraid!’ Elisha told him. ‘For there are more on our side than on theirs,’ Then Elisha prayed, ‘Oh Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young mans eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.”

I have read accounts that state that within those chariots of fire were Gods might angels…

I love this picture in my mind! When I am faced with an army of trials, the enemy is attacking, or I have a giant in front of me…I visualize that I have a hillside of horses, chariots of fire and an army of Gods angels behind me, just waiting to protect me.

It’s very comforting to know I may walk sidewalks, paths and roads by myself but I never walk alone! Neither do you…

Have a blessed day. I am still on island time with my littlest one. I’m sorry I missed yesterday, thank you for checking in today. 🥰

Love The Children…

Psalms 127:3 NIV “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.”

I slept in this morning and didn’t have time to study and prepare a devotion this morning. 🥰

My beautiful little reward from my reward snagged Nana’s IPad. I am so blessed today as I am visiting one of my rewards and a reward from her.

Be blessed. Much Love and Sunshine ☀️ today!

Grace…

Good morning from Galveston, TX, where I have beautiful blue skies greeting me! I am visiting my daughter and youngest granddaughter. I am feeling very blessed to have this opportunity to make a relationship with the littlest female of my family. I finally got my devotions unpacked and have a bit more normalcy to my morning.

I’m reading “God is with You Every Day” by Max Lucado. This book is an assortment of devotions from collections of his. This morning there was a line in my reading that jumped out at me and I wanted to share.

To discover God’s grace is to discover God’s Utter Devotion to You! “Grace by Max Lucado” God’s Utter Devotion to YOU!!!!

Have you ever really thought about that? God being devoted to you!! I know I am devoted to him each and every day of my life. I know that I am loved, protected, provided for, and will spend eternity with him because of the love and sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ. But Devoted!!!

Devoted is defined as: very loving or loyal! Dedicated, steadfast, devout, faithful, committed and attentive. Yep, our Lord is all of these things and so much more.

My heart was warmed this morning my the devotional thoughts Max shared and I hope you are as blessed. Thank you for joining me this morning, I have a cute little curly haired blonde setting next to me I’m going to go snuggle. Be blessed and Be A Blessing and Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Feelings…

We all have them and most often do not know what the heck to do with or about them!

As I read my devotions this morning, reflecting on the day and the mental list of to-do’s, the lack of feelings struck me. I am feeling all kinds of feelings but not what I feel like I should be feeling. Ha, there are a lot of feelings there!

I am flying to Texas bright and early tomorrow morning to visit my daughter and granddaughter. I am ecstatic, yet I am feeling dread! Why? I have a mile-long list; I am nervous about wearing a mask all day! ALL DAY!!! I get kind of nauseous on planes and just wearing a mask in the grocery store!!! So the combination has me a wee trepid. Covid and retirement have brought out the hermit in me and tomorrow feels daunting.

Emotions or feelings are states associated with the nervous system brought on by neuropsychological changes (the brain and the nervous system’s influence on a person’s mental action or process and behavior).

That answers it right there; I have physical fears, mental dread of those fears, the list of things I need to accomplish feels overwhelming today. I have the day before a vacation emotional battle going on. This one was easy to decipher, but what about the emotions, feelings, or moods you can’t put your finger on? Then what?

Take them to the Cross!!! Find your quiet spot and pray about whatever you are feeling. Even if all you can say is, “Help me Lord Jesus, I’m feeling “…” and I don’t know why, I don’t know how to stop, and I don’t know how to get out!!!” When we get trapped in emotional warfare, it’s hard to escape!

If you are feeling; anger, fear, sadness, boredom, doubt, frustration, guilt, hatred, hostility, hysteria, loneliness, paranoia, pride, rage, or remorse. Recognize them and also recognize where these feelings come from, not just what might have caused you to feel any of these in the physical realm but remember our fight is not always with flesh and blood.

John 10:10 NIV “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Feelings of life: love, happiness, surprise, empathy, euphoria, gratitude, hope, pleasure, and sympathy. These are the emotions and feelings that will help you battle the negative. Change your environment for a little while; if you can’t do that, change your music or the tv channel. Hard as it is to do when we are in a funk but try changing your attitude to one of gratitude…believe me, it works.

So, try hard on not dwelling on the negative and drum up some positive and you will find all of a sudden you aren’t feeling so bad after all. I have to go now, I have a lot of packing and preparing to do before I fly off into the blue skies tomorrow and visit my two Texas Roses.

Be blessed and thank you for joining me, and my jumbled feelings this morning. 🥰

A Sunday Prayer…

Good Morning Lord,

It’s your day, our day of rest. We may not be in a position of rest, as many jobs and careers demand our bodies, minds and attention today. This doesn’t mean we can take a moment and share some time with you in your word, starting our day armed with your love.

Be with us today Holy Spirit, that we can feel you and the peace you bring. Help us lay down our trials, fears, woes, and dreads today, replacing them with your quietness.

Within your quietness Lord, help us reflect on the beautiful things in our lives, not the negative ones. Help us, Lord, to set this day apart for you. To listen to an online church service, a podcast, turn on the radio, and find a praise and worship station and let your heavenly music fill our souls.

I pray that we notice that the stronger we become in you Jesus, the gentler and more peaceable we become. Jesus you ways are not our ways, help us to walk on your path. If we are broke, to give. If we are hungry, to share. If we are beaten in the world we are winners in you!

Be with us today, Lord, this day of you, fill our bodies, minds, and walls with your spirit. It’s your day; help us to share it with you.

In your glorious name Lord Jesus I pray these things. Amen ❤️🥰

This Is A Day The Lord Has Made…

Psalms 118:24 NCV “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice in it.”

As I begin this morning, the skies are a beautiful blue, and I hear birds singing outside; they too are rejoicing. The rain has ceased for a moment, sunshine is making an appearance and our hearts can feel the hint of spring.

I am joyful this morning. I am in the process of gathering, washing, packing and planning. I have my lists made, another smile as I accomplish another task. You see I get to go visit my daughter and granddaughter in Texas in a few days and I am so very excited.

But what about those days when the skies are dark? The days that are damp and cold, dreary and full of dread, what then? Well…you can sit all slumped and hunched over, surrounded in the fog!!!

Or, you can rejoice in the day the Lord has made. We can always find something to rejoice in! I’m afraid of the dark, so when I start searching for things to rejoice in, I immediately start with the fact that today I have eyesight. I can breathe fresh air. I have a family who love and support me. I have a puppy dog who adores me. I have a home and am blessed with food in my stomach.

Our days are how we choose for them to be. It’s simple, really; it’s all in how you choose to view said atmosphere! The psalmist, King David, had it figured out … Rejoice, God Made It…Gods Got It !!!

Go outside today, view the Lord’s beauty through his eyes, not yours, listen to the sounds around you, not the noise, and breathe some fresh air, blow out the cobwebs in your soul that winter has brought. Rejoice God made this day and He made you…they go hand in hand.

My heart is smiling today, and I’m rejoicing. I thank you for sharing some time with me. Be blessed and be a blessing. 🥰

It’s Never To Late…

Do you have a dream, a wish, a desire? Is there something in your inner spirit just screaming to get out? Let it out!!!

One of the books I am reading during my nightly tub of bubbles is “Stories to Inspire A Woman’s Soul” it’s one of the many Chicken Soup books! These are short quips written by everyday walk-of-life women. I am finding these accounts to be written by women in their middle ages and older which is why I am sure I relate to their daring tales of GETTING OUT OF THE BOX MENTALITY!!!

It’s never too late. As long as you can still see it, feel it, want it, you can strive towards achieving it! It might take getting off of the couch. It might take some saving and planning, but isn’t that part of the journey. You may need to take a class or two, watch U-tube, go to the library…PRAY!!! But do it, do something!

I remember in my late thirties, feeling that I had more to offer regarding my relationship with my Lord. I prayed always and my spirit would hear, raise your children in the way they should go. Ok, and I did just that! However, the feeling never went away, so I continued my walk, growth and prayers. The very day after turning 60, God blessed me with this blog and the avenue to share his love.

I am so excited to be at this age and stage of my life! Some of my favorite authors and speakers didn’t land book deals or set their feet on a stage until after retirement. My point is, “it’s never too late.”

Habakkuk 2:3 ESV “For still the vision awaits it’s appointed time; it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

Wish to skydive, start learning the ropes. Desire to write a book, then sit down and start writing, don’t worry about the punctuation or if it makes sense, just write…correction comes later. Love to color with pencils or chalk and wish to enhance your artistic talent, watch others better than you, learn their techniques. You know your little sparks deep inside, the ones that seem silly or monumental. The ones that you are afraid people might laugh at! Pull them out, and make them Yours!!! Don’t worry about what other people might think. This is your life, your walk, so make it the best you can; it’s up to you.

I hope you are blessed today; if you have a dream, dream it , and don’t let anyone rob you of that dream. Thank you for joining me; now I’m off to watch and learn how to create white caps on my ocean waves in my “Gnomes in the Neighborhood” coloring book. 😉🥰
