It’s Always Changing…

Nothing ever stays the same; in some cases, that’s a good thing, and in some, not so much!

Take a perfect haircut, for example. Wouldn’t it be nice if your hair could stay that way?

A weekend doing your favorite things, the company and weather are excellent, oh that this day would never end…

On the other hand, a root canal or uncomfortable medical procedure is a time for gladness that this isn’t going to last forever.

But aside from the obvious examples of changes, what about the changes in our society? A man’s word’ used to mean something; now it’s a watered-down phrase. We have become such a ‘me’ driven culture it’s hard to rely on people truly.

Sadly, the word trust has become synonymous with trepidation coming back to the: me, me, me, and I’m sorry you were hurt, but…I

We are but flesh and blood with desires of the flesh; we see to our needs first and anything and anyone else if we have the time.

In our world, that is ever-changing and at times feels as tho at warp speed; it’s comforting to know that the word of God and God himself never changes!!!

Isaiah 40:8 ESV “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of God will stand forever.”

James 1:17 ESV “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

Lamentations 3:22 ESV “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;”

On this you can build your foundation, on this you can trust. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

Rest, as our Lord will never let you down, nor will his love for you, his promises or word ever change.

Be blessed today and try and be a blessing! God loves you! Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Psalm 23 … The Lord The Shepherd

A psalm of David

The Lord is my Shepherd; I have everything I need. Jesus Christ is our daily bread and support in every season of our lives.

He lets me rest in green pastures. He leads me to calm water. In biblical days the shepherd let his sheep rest and graze in lush green grass. Sheep are led, they will not drink from rushing water, instead they instinctively know where to seek good, clean calm water in which to drink. The Bible is an excellent source of calm, clean water in which to quench an unquenchable thirst.

He gives me new strength. He leads me on paths that are right for the good of his name. He is with us as we struggle, and if we wander, as sheep tend to do, he’s always watching over us to gently guide us back to the path he has for each of us individually.

Even if I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid because you are with me. Your rod and shepherds staff comfort me. A dark valley could be anything fearful you are facing; cancer, divorce, bankruptcy, unemployment possibly foreclosure, You are not alone!!! The rod, was a short, thick heavy stick resembling today’s baton-the staff a long pole with a crook at the end. These were weapons to protect the sheep from predators. The Lord is our Shepherd and Protector.

You prepare a meal for me in front of my enemies. You pour oil of blessing on my head; you fill my cup to overflowing. Within King David’s life the Lord showed David’s enemies many times his hand upon David. He showered him with many victorious meals. The oil could be speaking of a healing balm the shepherds would apply to wounds on their sheep, but he could also be speaking of the anointing that the Lord placed on him? The Lord is our mighty healer and within him we are all anointed to go out and do his works. Our Lord is a generous God to those who serve and trust him. David lived a bountiful life; He lived a life serving God!

Surely your goodness and love will be with me all my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. (New Century Version) To this, I say Thank you and Amen!

I hope you are blessed today and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Things You Can Be Sure Of…

Things you can be sure of:

The morning follows the night, and summer is always a step behind spring. A glorious rainbow appearing in the sky after the rain has fallen.

December 31st at midnight, the clock will chime, and a new year will begin. There are 24 hours in a day, not a minute more nor a minute less.

The circle of life is more than a song featured in “The Lion King.” Style fads have a way of reinventing themselves, and new artists are singing oldies but goodies from yesterday.

The tide rushes onto the beach’s shoreline, only to turn around and race back out to sea. The sun rises at dawn and sets at dusk.

Romans 8:38-39 ESV “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

1 John 5:13 ESV “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.”

1 Peter 1:25 ESV “But the word of the Lord remains forever.’ And this word is the good news that was preached to you.”

John 5:24 ESV “Truly, truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

Today is but sand shifting, and we do not know what the next moment holds. Fear and destruction are running rampant, some are turning right, some are turning left and some are just standing not sure where to go. There is a lost feeling in the air, and as a society, it feels like we are losing.

We Are Not Of This World…we are travelers just passing through. Carry these scriptures in your arsenal and use them as needed when your ground feels a bit shaky and your world is tipping.

1 John 4:4 NIV “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

We’ve got this…Have a blessed day and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Happy Mother’s Day…

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there!

Proverbs 31:25-30 ESV “Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and teachings of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all”…

Dear Lord,

I lift up to you all the mom’s …

The cherished mom who will be recognized and honored for her unique role. The not forgotten mom who will receive phone calls, texts, flowers, or gifts in the mail. The sleeping mom who got woke up to breakfast in bed, and the shining faces of joy from those who prepared her bountiful offering. The proud mom who will wear her pretty dress and smile to church this morning, for all to see she is adored.

However,

My Father God…I especially lift up to you, the single mom who is worn to a frazzle. The unappreciated mom, whose family feel it’s her job why does she need a special day. The disappointed mom who gave everything she had to her children who consequently grew up spoiled and selfish, not bothering to return her love or their time.

I pray for the battered mom in hiding, the one who prays daily to remain invisible, to the hand of pain and hurt. I pray for the lonely mom longing for a visit or a call. The prideful mom who put herself in a position, no longer knowing how to change the situation without losing face. The barren mom who prays daily to become a mother and the bereaved mom who have children who were returned to you too soon.

Lord, today is a special day in the hearts of women. I ask that you would wrap your loving arms around each and everyone of us. Holy Spirit, make yourself known and felt today so that each of us know whether we are appreciated on earth or not, that we are appreciated and special to you. In your name Lord Jesus I pray. Amen

Isaiah 66:13a ESV “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.“

I pray for you a blessed day and God’s love to keep you! Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Peace …

There doesn’t seem to be much peace in the world today. The world is in great unrest. Our minds are in great unrest. We wear masks in public. We have another vaccine to decide on and new strains cropping up that the vaccine doesn’t ward against, so will there be a second and third version? This is a significant period of change in our history books, and we are the people of that day.

John 14:27 NLT “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

We don’t have the answers to tomorrow, but God does. He sees our today and tomorrow; if you find your spirit is at odds, there’s a weirdness in the air, something is off-kilter, and you feel as tho you are chasing the wind.

Slow down, go outside if you can, look up at the sky and watch a bird or two in flight. The reason I mention watching a bird or two in aviation is that yesterday, I was blessed with a moment of peace in just that manner.

The sun had peeked out from behind a cloud, so I went outside to catch a glimpse and breathe in the fresh air; I was saying a simple prayer of thanksgiving for the spot of sunshine and was blessed by an aerobatic show by a couple of sparrow playing in the breeze and tailwinds.

I caught myself mesmerized by their joyful fun of flight and thought, no one taught them how to fly, use drafts, and tailwinds it’s just instinctual. I believe it’s just as instinctual for our souls to align with God, to seek his peace in our spirits. Especially in today’s crazy world!

He already knows who you are, he knows your name, history, accomplishments, and skeletons, and he loves you and is patiently waiting for you to say hello! Seek his peace.

I hope you find a blessing or two on your travels today and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Who’s There?

Revelation 3:20 NCV “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me.”

I’ve used this scripture about Jesus knocking on the door of your heart and accepting him as your Lord and Savior. I will one day do a study on the depth of the invitation to share a meal, but today, the research took me to the church of Laodicea.

In the book of Revelation (the last book in the Bible ), Jesus addresses the seven churches, their strengths and weaknesses, their good points and bad. Laodicea is the only church to receive no positive points, only criticism.

What are the faults within this church that Jesus so strongly scorns? The church was lukewarm, smug, and self-satisfied. It was a very wealthy church and boasted of needing nothing. Read the verses below to see how Jesus felt.

Revelation 3:15-17 NCV “I know what you do, that you are not hot or cold. I wish that you were hot or cold! But because you are lukewarm-neither hot, nor cold-I am ready to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich, and I have become wealthy and do not need anything.’ But you do not know that you are really miserable, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.”

Jesus stood outside the church door, knocking, hoping the door would open and allow him back in! Could Jesus be talking to you today? Is he standing outside your door knocking? If he is, I highly suggest you open it and invite him in! He’s the best guest you will ever have.

Lord Jesus, I pray that you will keep me from becoming a church of Laodicea, lax, inattentive, forgetting you are my strength and well-being. So comfortable in my world and nest that I fail to see others who aren’t. If you are standing at a door knocking, I pray for their ears and spirit to be open to your calling and life of love. To say, ‘Lord Jesus, I need you. Please, come into my heart and share a meal with me today and every day. I thank you for those hearts, you are reaching for and their receiving you and your love. Thank you for your love, protection, and provision daily in my life and the lives of those I love. In your glorious name, I pray. Amen

I hope these words have given you some food for thought. May your day be blessed and as always, Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Heaven to Earth…

“Christs pardon brings the soul to heaven. His presence brings heaven to the soul.” Max Lucado

I love the author Max Lucado! Not only is he a devoted man of God. He is a gifted man of God, sharing his insight and knowledge within many pages of many books. I appreciate his way of teaching, his writing style and sense of humor! He’s also known to make some of the most profound statements.

John 1:14a NIV “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” I love this! When God, in human form entered the world, the word became flesh. Through Jesus, heaven came to earth!

When we believe in Jesus and accept him as Lord and Savior in our lives. He brings heaven to our souls. Heaven now resides in your earth, your world, and your name is now in heaven, in the book of life. Heaven in earth and earth in heaven!!!

It’s pretty awesome when you think about it! Heaven follows us as we walk and talk and take care of business. The Holy Spirit resides in us, and we belong to him. Heaven walking around on earth.

Dear Lord, Our Father In Heaven, I bow before you humbly and earthly. I wish to spend the rest of my days here walking within you and you within me. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. I thank you for taking my sinful self upon you and dying in my place. I accept your gift of life and rejoice that my name is now in heavens big beautiful book. For today and my tomorrow’s thank you that I no longer ever walk alone. In your glorious name Lord Jesus I pray. Amen

I hope you will ponder Max’s thought and remember that you carry a piece of heaven within you as you walk your walk on earth.

Be blessed today and be a blessing. Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Guilty!!!

The verdict is out and you are charged!!! You are condemned and convicted!!!

Conviction: Shame; a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior.

God supplied us with The Holy Spirit when we placed our hand in his and declared boldly we belong to him. The Holy Spirit is our spiritual conscience. Are you feeling a sense of conviction about something, pray about it and take care of the situation.

1 John 3:20 ESV “For whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.”

Condemnation: The expression of extreme disapproval. The action of condemning someone to punishment; sentencing.

This is where it gets tricky! Satan is the king of condemnation! There is a difference between the feeling conviction and the feeling of condemnation. Conviction comes from the heart, from our spirit; it’s the difference between right and wrong. Condemnation comes from shame, embarrassment and guilt. Conviction comes from God; Condemnation comes from Satan!

Romans 8:1 ESV “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Convicted: Having been declared guilty of a criminal offense by the verdict or a jury or the decision of a judge.

You are in trouble, the courtroom is packed. God sits on the bench, gavel in hand! You can hear the whispers, the murmurs, of the audience; what is the sentence going to be?

In walks Satan, dressed in black from head to toe with a menacing aura of darkness surrounding him, you can hear the gasps in the background . He looks at the jury and starts reading off your long list of sins, wrong choices and harmful actions. Your stomach sinks; it does not sound good at all!

Wait!!! There’s a hush in the crowd, the doors swing open and all you can see is light! It’s so bright and warm, it’s your lawyer! It’s Jesus and he’s dressed in all white and glorious! He looks at Satan and says, “this one is mine, I paid for his sins, he is free in me! The gavel slams, and God pronounces Not Guilty!!!

John 16:8 ESV “And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.”

Colossians 2:14 NLT “He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.”

Thank you Jesus!

Be blessed today and thank you for joining me. 🥰

And Don’t Get Dirty…

Isaiah 61:10 ESV “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”

This verse was in one of my devotional readings this morning, and as I read it, I could hear my mom or myself years ago…kids all dressed, pressed, teeth brushed, and hair combed. We are leaving in a minute, don’t get dirty!!!

Yet here we are, clothed and robed in God’s royal finery and we:

We complain and grumble because of this or that; it didn’t work the way we wanted. We are having to wait, or work for, or towards our dream or goal. We have to deal with uncomfortable situations or life choices. We have to deal with life!!!

We take for granted all the simple blessings we have, ask the person who can’t walk, run, hear, see, get out of a chair or bed without assistance. Leftovers again, but we forget to be thankful that we have food on the table.

We get cranky, snarky, snarly, resentful, tired, bored, and testy!!! It’s just another day, I hate my job, I’m tired of the dishes and laundry, I’m tired of being home all day by myself, I’m tired of all of these people in my face. It’s too hot, it’s too cold, dang it’s raining again, we need more rain…on, and on, and on!!!

We just got dirty…our beautiful garments are now soiled and wrinkled! Can we stay spotless every moment of every day! No and No!!! But then Jesus knew this, God sees us through Jesus, so we are perfect in his sight! Is this license to run havoc through the mud? No, but when we fall, when we grumble, when we forget to be grateful. We have our Lord Jesus.

Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV “Because of the Lords great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fails. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

So, remember this, if you notice a mark or stain on your face or in your attitude, look up, show him the spot, ask for forgiveness, recognize and wait for the warm, loving washcloth. To swoop down and gently scrub you clean, again!!!

Be blessed today and be a blessing and thank you for joining me. 🥰
