Today is a New Day…

Hello, this is so new to me and the inspiration hit me in the quiet hours this morning when the world feels like it’s still sleeping and the sun hasn’t woke the sky up yet. I turned 60 yesterday, no biggie many have and will but it was a special birthday to me. I feel a sense of renewal…don’t know why especially. I can surmise it is a stirring in my spirit by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…he is the author of this book called my life.

I was blessed yesterday but a very special birthday message from one of my school classmates; she called me sunshine and stated that, that’s what she thinks of when she thinks of me. Words that warmed my heart and made me smile…she commented my posts on FB were always positive, warm and feel like sunshine. She blessed me with her words… Obviously as here we are.

I am just like you and you out there…I raised 3 children as a single mother for 13 years… I have been married for the past 19…I have no degrees on my wall but the one thing I do know is our Lords love. I hope this goes somewhere…I hope to share a bit of sunshine with you!

My goal is to maybe share a thought or two, a lesson learned, maybe simply the beauty around us that we are forgetting to look at because there is so much ugly consuming the news and social media…A gentle place … Join me…I don’t know where this is going but I have a feeling God does.

A Day of Rest…

Good morning, Happy Sunday to you…

Sundays are my favorite days of the week! There’s something special in a Sunday. Sundays remind me of summer days, beautiful white railings around a wide sweeping porch, where family and friends met, visited and drank lemonade served from a frosty glass pitcher filled with ice. Cookies, cake or pie was served and you could smell the fried chicken that was sizzling in the black skillet in the kitchen for dinner, mom’s wore aprons and the world seemed simple… believe it or not there was a time when Sundays were just this…gatherings after Church.

Sundays are meant to be a day of rest! Genesis 2:2-3 NLT “On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation”

Are you one of these types, Sunday naturally brings a quiet peace to your spirit? OR are you one of the types who can’t set still, must be doing something all the time? I am a balance of busy and knowing when I need to stop or slow down. My husband however is a doer, a goer, a goal setter. I appreciate his tenacity however I am working on getting him to realize that if God can take a day of rest so can you…AND SO CAN YOU!!!

Our minds and bodies were created to need rest and nourishment to refuel…you aren’t being lazy if you set in your lawn chair and enjoy a good book, take a nap in the hammock, throw that fishing line into the lake…rock your grandbaby to sleep and then just sit and enjoy the feel of holding that bundle of sleeping love ❤️

It’s Sunday, Our Lords day of rest…Perfect time to give it a try…kick back, take some time to yourself you deserve it. God Thinks So…Have a Very Blessed Day… Thank you for joining me 🥰
