We All Have Gifts to Give…

We all have gifts to give because we’ve been given gifts. Gifts from birth that are as much a part of our DNA as our genetic genes. Some may carry more then one gift as some blend well together. The gifts are: Prophecy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Giving, Leadership and Mercy…

Prophecy: “One who utters divinely inspired Revelations.” This word always reminds me of the disciples. Men wearing robes, walking around in sandals with a tall wooden staffs. Are there still prophets today? We have the Bible, the full word of God from beginning to end so this question is actually pondered today. The bible does warn us about false prophets in the end times… there will be wolves in sheep’s clothing…Matthew 7:15 Be Prepared!!!

Serving: Any and all of us can fit into this category, as the category is as vast as the people. Take a large gathering; whether it be a church event, wedding, retirement party, fund raiser, etc. Take a look at the people in service: ticket sellers and sign hangers, organizers, decorators, the cooks and casserole makers, the ones who set up the table and chairs and tear them back down afterwards, the ones in the kitchen serving and cleaning, the greeters and ushers and your MC…where would we be without the circle of personalities who bring it all together.

Teaching: Our parents, minister, boss, teacher or professor probably were the first to come to mind but we can all fit in here as well. I remember a conversation with one of my greatest mentors who could quote scripture and their addresses like a second language. I told her once, I’m not equipped to share our Lord I can’t find any scriptures without looking them up in the concordance. Her response was do you have stories and testimonials about his love and care in your world? “Yes”, well that’s all you need. Teaching is simply sharing our knowledge and experience with others.

Exhortation: This is my favorite… Exhortation is the cheerleader of the pack…it gets to encourage, YAY!!! These personable characters help in possibly changing a view to a more positive approach or to simply give a hug, a word of encouragement, and leaving you with a smile. People with the gift of Exhortation are usually very upbeat and charismatic. These cats aren’t ever in the kitchen helping…they are greeting, laughing, enjoying and making everyone around them feel welcome.

Giving: Big donors come to mind here…but does it need to be big? I don’t think so. Yes, those who are blessed with the gift of finances for using to build that new wing or donate the cement for the foundation of the new church are so needed and greatly appreciated. Personally, I love the little givers and so does Jesus. The woman who gave the two pennies is praised because she gave all she had and with her whole heart. I happen to have someone special in my world who buys Bible’s for people who need them. On Amazon a paperback bible can be purchased for $10…can you imagine how much Jesus beams when another bible is ordered and sent to a soul searching for a life preserver. He supplies the Bibles for my little ministry also and his support and gifts mean the world to me…nothing ever done for our Lord is to small.

Leaders: We think of the CEO’s Directors of Operations, Minister; yes all the powerhouses; but what about the company picnic organizer, event planner, camp counselor, fund raising lead, troop leader or mom on a mission. Where would we be without the take charge People? Probably still sitting and discussing…what we should, do!!! With nothing getting done…

Last but definitely not least is the gift of Mercy: this is the gift of compassion, charity, humanity, kind-heartedness, giving compassionate treatment to those in distress…Gods word tells us our mercies are new every day. We begin fresh each morning. It’s a new day go out and make it a great one…use a few of your gifts today…you know what they say!!! What you put out will come back duofold. That’s Spiritual Law…go give it a try.

Have a most blessed day and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Coffee, Tea and Me!!!

Coffee, probably one of the most popular beverages in today’s society. When Starbucks hit the streets in 1991 it became a phenomenon. Coffee was no longer dark colored water in a cup…it became a decadent sipping experience.

Coffee has become very social in the 21st Century. We meet for coffee, discuss business over coffee, we often have a first date over coffee. I play an online game and belong to a club and we literally meet daily in the coffee lounge where we share a cup of coffee that equals energy…There are as many different places and ways to share coffee, have your coffee prepared and served as there are types of beans and roasting techniques.

I’m an early riser, very early sometimes and I’ve grown accustomed to the quiet hours when the sky is covered in its black comforter and the world still feels like it’s sleeping. It’s peaceful…I appreciate the alone time with my, you guessed it, my coffee…

I also have a coffee date every morning, my date is the best because I don’t have to get dressed, he’s cool with my flannel nightgown. I don’t have to comb my hair or put any makeup on because he loves me just as I am. He always works around my schedule; so if we meet at 4 a.m. he’s there or if it isn’t until 5:30 a.m. he’s patiently waiting. Seriously, he isn’t even upset that I’m late today, he’s just thrilled I showed up.

Ok, so where can I find a morning coffee date like yours, you may be asking…and I’m so glad you did. My date is Jesus and he can be found within the pages of Bible….there are yearly Bible’s broke down to a reading a day…there are plenty of online options to choose from to help create a reading plan that works for you. Keep it simple, just crack open the pages and dive in. You’ll be amazed at the characters you will meet and grow to love within those crisp pages, they are all there just waiting to meet you!!!

Psalms 118:24 NCV “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it today.”

Lamentations 3:22-25 NCV “The Lord’s love never ends; his mercies never stop. They are new every morning; Lord, your loyalty is great. I say to myself, ‘the Lord is mine, so I hope in him’. The Lord is good to those who hope in him.”

Psalms 143:8 NCV “Tell me in the morning about your love, because I trust you. Show me what I should do, because my prayers go up to you.”

I can tell you by experience that the mornings I share my coffee with the Lord and then begin my day go a lot smoother then the mornings I share with just myself. Could it be the spirit that remains in me throughout the day from starting my day off right that makes it seem smoother??? Hmmm, thoughts to ponder…

So go grab a cup of coffee, set down and crack open your Bible and start your day with the best friend you will ever have. If you do not have a Bible please message me and we will get you one. Have a most blessed day and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Praise…Getting or Giving???

Praise; Merriam-Webster defines; “to express a favorable judgment of”, “to glorify (a God or saint) especially by the attributes of perfections”, “an expression of approval” …Commendation, Worship, Value, Merit.

I am a big believer in praise and personally I don’t believe that there is enough of it going around…Praise can elevate our feelings, make us feel more motivated, appreciated and even noticed. Praise can be as simple as a high five, great job as you walk by your teen in the middle of a school project or a co-worker going above and beyond. Praise doesn’t mean get out the harps and angels and start singing. Tho it can!!! LOL!!!

Praise needs to be kept light and simple so as not to produce unwarranted pressure, especially in children. “You’ve been such a good boy today, I love you so much when you’re a good boy.”. Ok, so you only love me when I’m good. In some people praise can have the opposite effect. Why was it whenever I told my children how good they were being and how proud I was of them, the tide completely turned and monsters appeared. Why!! Because, it just became in their minds now an expectation and a chore to now have to behave.

If you’ve noticed any thing about me by reading my posts it’s that I like to feel good and help people around me feel good. I enjoy life (well most of the time) and wish to share that. Do not get me wrong, I’m not Glenda the Good Witch by any means and I don’t float around in a beautiful pink gauze gown, even tho I would love it…I have bad days and trials in my world just like everyone else, it’s how you choose to react and the position you choose to take; I can stay in my funk, in my mood or on my pitty pot and have a miserable day or days (and I’ve been known to do just such) but it just makes the days twice as long…and really accomplishes nothing or I can climb out of said mood. What in the world does this have to do with praise???

I shall tell you. It’s as simple as changing your mind set. You can stop, take a breath and a look around… there’s always something beautiful to look at, just take the time to look for it. Go outside and look at the sky and the clouds, breathe in the fresh air. Put your earbuds in and play your favorite music, pull out your favorite book of scripture, quotes or bathroom quips find a quiet spot and read a few find whatever may produce: peace, a smile or a chuckle…

I pray my way out of a mood, hurt or funk… amazing what talking to our Creator does for the spirit, spill your heart out, he’s there, he’s just waiting for a conversation with you. I can sometimes hit a wall where I can’t pray at the moment…just can’t…things aren’t supposed to be like this and I’m in the middle of a tornado…in these emotional times all I may get out are a couple verses of “Jesus Loves “Me” from Bible School…repeat that a few times!!! So juvenile simple but sometimes that’s just what we need…simple!

Take the time today to praise yourself. You know the progress you are making, you know the project you just completed, you know that step of Faith you just took and are hoping it was the right one, you know how hard you are trying or working, so give yourself a high five and a smile…they change the day the really do!

My prayer today is you find something to be thankful for as that is what Praise is…Being Thankful and Expressing It!!! I am thankful for all of you. Have a most blessed day and Thank you for joining me.🥰

Laughter…

You’ve heard the age old adage, “Laughter is the best medicine” it’s true. Laughter releases endorphins in the brain. Endorphins are connected to our central nervous system that help us deal with stress and reduce the feeling of pain.

Drugs such as morphine and heroin act on the same opioid receptors that endorphins do only these fool the brain into a false sense of well being, euphoria, reduced pain or stress. So, instead try watching old reruns of Carol Burnett or Dukes of Hazard…go to U-tube and look up your favorite comedian, it’s much cheaper, legal and the withdrawals don’t hurt.

Is it ok to laugh or feel happy? Of course it is…we can often times make ourselves feel guilty over feeling good. How can I have the audacity to be happy when there is so much wrong with the world. Well for one you aren’t in charge of the world and can only do your part. We can be mindful of our surroundings but to absorb everything, respond and live as our world is these days would be a quick trip down the dark rabbit hole.

You may possibly just lost someone very dear to you. The feelings of grief, sadness, and loss are normal but in the middle of these normal sad emotions a giggle sneaks out or something happens and you find yourself in the middle of a good ol’ belly laugh…and immediately feel wrong in doing so. Stop, unless the person you just lost was sadistic, he or she would rejoice in your laughter.

Does God have a sense of humor? In Genesis 1:27 NCV “So God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them.” So if we were created in his image and laughter is a big part of the human psyche, one can assume he does!!! I happen to think God has a serious sense of humor. I mean look at some of the animals he created…the platypus for one-mole body with a Duck mouth and feet…and what’s with the ostrich’s hairdo…the T-Rex, this poor guy…here we have a monstrous being with the head the size of a small plane, teeth as jagged a mountain peaks, legs and feet the size of large hydraulic pumps but little tiny baby arms and hands. Kept Rex humble, well as humble as Rex could be.

We are called to be empathic, I’m not suggesting in the middle of someone’s tragedy you start telling your favorite jokes so they can laugh or being so self absorbed that you don’t notice the inner pain of people around you. Some of these people you look at everyday; might need an ear, some might need a hug and then there are some who could use just a good ol’ belly laugh. Be open and aware of your surroundings, there’s much to enjoy and rejoice over…let yourself and share it with others… You will bless them and yourself.

I pray for you a day filled with laughter in your spirit, joy in your heart and sunshine on your shoulder…have a blessed day and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Circumstances vs. Situations

A situation is a set of circumstances in which one finds oneself. A circumstance is a fact or condition connected with or relevant to an event or action. Simply put; a situation is the thing that’s happening and the circumstance is the condition of that thing.

The circumstances are as endless as the situations. This is how we learn and grow. From our walk: as toddlers, little kids, kids, tweens, teens, young adults, adults, older adulthood to senior citizens we learn that certain behaviors or actions lead to sets of circumstances and land us in situations…

I think the mind automatically goes towards the negative lessons and I feel it’s because those hurt and had or are having the most impact on our lives. The hardest lessons learned, are the ones that sound the alarm bells in our head, the next time we get close to wrong choices, that lead to circumstances and situations we don’t desire. I have that T-shirt don’t want another one. At least we hope the alarm bells go off and that we heed the warnings!!!

We are human and made of flesh and bone…we are not perfect and never will be. We will make mistakes that we need to fix. We will make some choices that will forever haunt. We will fall, scrape our knees, stand back up, brush ourselves off and start over again. Why??? Because that’s the human spirit within us!!! If you also have the Holy Spirit within you, then you also have those still little voices from our Lord giving you leadings, promptings and direction. But you have to be still and listen.

You may have found or find yourself in a situation that wasn’t of your choosing: your health is in a spot of need, the company you work for has shut its doors, you found yourself trapped in a spot and the walls had closed in and none of the choices were good but you needed to make one and are now dealing with changing the circumstances and situation it left you in.

Jesus wants nothing but the best for your life; he’s your safe haven when the high winds are blowing, he’s your road map of this tangled world called life, he’s the love you possibly didn’t receive as a child or aren’t receiving as an adult, he’s the companion you might need until that special one shows up, he’s that life preserver when you feel like you’re drowning, he’s the might physician when your body is broken…He Is God!!! He Is Yours!!!

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 NLT “Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you what path to take.”

Deuteronomy 31-6 NLT “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

I don’t know where you are in your circumstances or what situation you are living with but I pray peace in your heart, strength in your spirit and love in your world. Remember this, nothing stays the same and this to shall pass! Have a blessed day and Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Memories…

Today a childhood friend and brother of heart would be turning 60…I am sad this morning as I miss this friend, our quirky visits, his bright blue eyes that sparkled like sun on water and his laugh…he had the best laugh ever! If Bobby laughed everyone laughed…See, a smile just creeped out and onto my face. A Cherished Memory!!! ❤️

Memories are the pictures in our minds that allow us to carry people, places, events and the simple passing of time with us always. I’ve been going through boxes of pictures separating them per child to eventually make each of them a memory book!!! So Many Memories!!

What a time travel this has been and I’ve loved it…getting to show my grandchildren what their parents looked like at their ages and OH MY GOSH GRAMMIE IS THAT YOU!!! Surprise, grammie didn’t always look like a grammie … Lol !!! Oh the Memories!!!

Another great form of memories and time travel is a journal…I have totes upon totes of journals that I’ve written in from the day I took my 3 babies and headed out on my own…in June of this year that was 32 years ago. I will get nostalgic and dig into these chambers of time and read about life … When I was pulling the wagon…God and I!!! The little red Radio Flyer wagon was always the illustration I used, especially in prayer…”God, my wagon feels so heavy right now, I’m trying to get up this icy mountain in roller skates and I need your help!!!” You get the picture…A Tired Me Memory!!

God… Memories… His word speaks of remembering!!! Psalms 77:11-13 NCV ” I remember what the Lord did; I remember the miracles you did long ago. I think about all the things you did and consider your deeds. God, your ways are holy. No God is as great as our God.” A Scripture about Memory!!!

Memories of times of trial and the answered prayers or the unanswered prayers for that matter. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have been saved by God saying no!!! Anyway, the point is upon facing another trial: doctor’s report, bank statement, a postponement, a delay, a disappointment, whatever the case may be, remember he brought you through last time put your faith back where it needs to go and remember he will bring you through this time also…A Blessed Memory!!!

It’s Sunday, our Lords day…go outside if you can or open your windows wide and breathe in the fresh air, get out the croquet set, fire up the bbq…pull out the board games and create a family challenge day of fun. Grab that book you’ve been wanting to read and find a cozy nook… whatever your day looks like…go out and create some memories. You might never know when that picture will pop back up and bring a smile to your face. A New Memory!!!

Go make a smile picture and have a most blessed day…weather looks like it’s a sunshine on your shoulder day!!! Go enjoy and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Reading is an Adventure!!!

I love to read! As a kid growing up in the summer I could be found in the library as often as in the swimming pool which happened to be conveniently located in the same community center !!! How simple was that…

I enjoy fiction and read many different genres, from murder mysteries to slapstick geriatric crime stoppers. Books for me are an escape, I might be in India with the greatest detective agency money can buy trying to figure out who kidnapped the Maharajah’s daughter or I am in New Jersey with the worst bounty hunter known to man, her gun toting grandma and ex-prostitute sidekick Lulu.

There are books for learning, growing, gardening, cooking or for more of an in depth look we have biographies or simply a coffee table book full of beautiful pictures and places of interest to enjoy or possibly use to plan your next vacation. I venture to say there’s a book out there for everyone and the first one that comes to mind is the Bible…

BIBLE…Basic. Instruction. Before. Leaving. Earth!!!

Boring!!! The bible is boring, it’s just a bunch of thee’s and thy’s and thou’s … God telling you everything you can’t do anymore…Yah, I don’t think so…Hmmmmm, maybe but have you given it a chance? You might be surprised…

Do you enjoy historical romance or war stories? King Authur, Guinevere and Merlin…the bible has armor, swords, battles, sweat, betrayal…look up Samson or David and Goliath to name a couple.

There’s a king who fell in lust for a beautiful woman and had her husband sent to the front lines of a raging battle, you can guess where that went and ended up. There is jealousy, deceit, trickery, included is great wisdom as tho Archimedes were setting on your shoulder. There’s magic and sorcery; miracles and phenomenons… earthquakes, great floods and even giant burning rocks of sulfur thrown down from the heavens as Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed by fire.

The greatest story ever told is written in the Bible…The 4 gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These four disciples each wrote of their encounter and walk beside Jesus. In these 4 books contained within the 73 books within the One Big Book you will meet, encounter and begin your walk with Jesus also…

There’s a spirit within the pages of the bible that come alive when you crack open that binder, breathe in the smell of the paper and let his words engulf and transform you. There are stories within stories to get lost in and it’s the greatest chronicle of love ever written.

I challenge you today, pick up your Bible…go to the concordance in the back and look up a word and follow it to readings…if you don’t have a bible please message me and I will see that you receive one…I hope I’ve piqued your curiosity. Go take a look there are a lot of great characters in the Bible just waiting to meet you…Have a blessed day and happy reading! Thank You for joining me. 🥰

I Love Dogs and How They Love❤️❤️❤️

Anyone who knows me very well knows I love animals. I have always had a serious sensitivity and compassion for them. I can remember as a little girl, watching “Gentle Ben” and “Lassie” at my grandma’s and crying every episode because that big ol’ bear or that beautiful dog always got into a mess… they always got out of said mess, but still!! I remember my dad asking me why I got so upset, I knew Timmy was going to save the day…I just couldn’t help it!!! Still Can’t!!!

The Sarah McLachlan and World Wildlife Foundation commercials send me running. I give to these organizations but still cannot watch or hear of the: abuse, neglect, hunger, or distinction. I so worry about the Polar Bears as our world continues to get warmer and the seams of our earth appear to be cracking everywhere.

Global warming and animal abuse isn’t where I am going this morning even though both are warranted subjects. I want to talk about “Love” … The kind of love you receive from our furry canines. A dog loves with every ounce of it’s being, it is loyal to death, they will protect their people with their lives and not give a moment of thought to the danger they could be putting themselves into.

Can you EVER walk in your front door from being away and have a greeting from any person you know like the greeting you get from your dog? Probably not, just saying … There are as many types of dogs as there are people. Some people continue having the breed of dog they grew up with, some have breeds that work alongside or assist in a therapeutic or physical compacity and some have breeds that look just like their owners. I’m not sure what that says about me because I have a miniature schnauzer…she has a mustache and a beard. LOL…I’m of Jewish descent, so to be honest if I didn’t tweeze and pluck I would too … 🙄

I of course have no idea if when God told Adam he could name all the animals if he called the Dog the Dog because of the selfless manner in which they give and love… because if you turn the spelling of dog around, what do you get? God!!!

The correlation between the spellings and examples of love might just be in my head but if the shoe fits!!! Here are some examples of God’s Love…

John 3:16 NCV “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.”

Romans 8:37-39 NCV “But in all these things we are completely victorious through God who showed his love for us. Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us or below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Psalms 86:15 NCV “But, Lord, you are a God who show’s mercy ( compassion or forgiveness) and is kind. You don’t become angry quickly. You have great love and faithfulness.”

Psalms 136:1-3 NCV “Give thanks to the Lord because he is good. His love continues forever. Give thanks to the God of gods, His love continues forever.”

I don’t know if you know God’s Love, I sure hope you do but if you don’t…take some time to observe your dogs love and flip it around and you’ve got God’s. Take the time to ask him to show you his love and to become real in you, and that in time we may reflect his kind love to others…our world sure could use it right now!!!

As for me and my mini Schnauzer, Bella who is blissfully snoozing beside me…we wish you a most blessed day and sunshine on your shoulder. Thank you for joining me🥰

It’s A Battlefield Out Here!!!

Today’s world is a bit scary I must say! There seems to be a fight everywhere you turn. The Red and Blue are at each other as though the Civil War is being reenacted. Respect for person or property was a quaint word they used in the 50’s. A life, no matter the color, race or gender seems to no longer count, the pain a death causes no longer a thought. Riots and destruction nightly…no regard for the law or those who serve to Protect…Thank God amongst all this turbulence, we aren’t hearing about daily shooting in schools, oh that’s right our children aren’t in school at least physically. How weird is that…Our World and Lives are Weird right now to say the least…

When a soldier goes into battle he girds himself…in other words he prepares for action…This is exactly what we need to do…we need to ready ourselves for our day and whatever battle we may face; that battle may be morning traffic, your angry 3 year old, your spouse’s mood, your bosses mood, your body that is battling itself within you whatever the battle is you need to be prepared to fight. How do we do this, you ask?

By turning ourselves into a medieval knight from the 9th Century and putting on our Armor; God’s Armor!!! Ephesians 5:10-20…

Stand Firm with the belt of Truth buckled around your waist; as you wear a belt close to your body, we should hold God’s truth close to us. His word helps us to discern what is true from what is untrue. In these days and days to come there will be many reports and you need to know which report to believe.

Breastplate of Righteousness in place; this is the second piece of armor; designed by God to protect our heart and soul from evil deception. We also need to show the world our hearts, as Gods children we need to shine a little brighter and show love a little more, even if it’s just a smile at a stranger as you pass on the sidewalk. Amazing what a smile does for others and even more for ourselves.

Third, Our Feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace; Gospel, means “good news”… referring to Jesus’ sacrifice, that we may be saved. We have beaten death and will spend eternity with him. Great news!!! This also means knowing the gospel so you can rely on scripture and the teachings within on how to acquire peace in your spirit, no matter what attack you’re under.

Next comes the shield of Faith, in which you can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one; faith in our Lord, his protection, provision and plan helps us to fight: fear, uncertainty, loss, health, and the dark. Faith is what makes it all happen, if you believe and never lose faith…you will see miracles in your life.

Put on your helmet of salvation, the helmet served as protection for the head and often times death. The helmet has a couple of functions here…one, the helmet; to protect the mind as our spiritual battleground is often our own thinking…know what God has to say. Fight the thoughts that create havoc. Next our salvation…the deliverance or redemption from sin and its effects…Jesus died on the cross for us…You and Me… So that we may have life and have it abundantly.

Then last but certainly not least; carry the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God!!! To be effective in any surrounding you need to know the lingo, abbreviations for, or code sayings over the loudspeaker that only employees understand. Same with our fight against: evil, sin, behavior, and mostly our thoughts. By knowing Gods word, you can fight any battle with the word of God…the battle going on in the world, your community, your workplace, your home or your mind. Pick up your sword and spar with anything that is keeping you from peace and joy.

So, I encourage you to start your day with his word that goes straight to your heart and mind. Pray on your Armor of God…and go out and slay your dragons today. Have a most blessed day and Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Power in the Name!!!

Names, it’s how we are known and identified. Names or at least the surname origin carry meaning, descriptions, the root of where it began. The beginning of who you are.

Social scientist believe that names produce a Dorian Gray effect, influencing personality, how we’re perceived and even physical appearance. “When internal factors such as personality influence external facial appearance this has been termed “the Dorian Gray effect”

Often times names have a certain sound or feel: Ezekial or Zeke for short… definitely conjures the picture of a strong male, it’s Hebrew origin means; “God will strengthen” OR … here’s an example of something a bit more modern how about: Ryker…in Danish means “Super Strong”. These names produce a strong viral male picture…as opposed to: Conner this name has a gentler feel – it’s meaning is “Friend to Everyone”, OR … Paul, A Disciplined Fellow…These names bring a softer male image…safe!

Girls names are a lot more fun: Abigail (Abby) – “A Fathers Joy”, Isabelle–“God is my strength, devoted to God”, Nora-“Shinning Light”, Sophia-“Wisdom” and Zoe-“Life” … We can also associate names by characters in the books we read, movies we watch, the stars who play the roles, stars or sports figures themselves, people you went to school with or work with…you know that battle when trying to pick out a name for your unborn. Yikes!!!

BUT… There is a name above all names and that name is Jesus…The name Jesus is derived from the Hebrew name Yeshua, which is based on the semitic root, meaning “to deliver, to rescue”

Isaiah 9:6 NLT “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”…

Phillipians 2:9-11 NLT “Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, In Heaven, and On Earth, and Under the Earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

In prayer when praying in “The Name of Jesus Christ” there is abundant power…however calling upon Him in prayer is not a magic amulet that will ensure you get what you are praying for but moreover it’s telling our Lord that we are laying down our personal desires and our way of getting things done. By a prayer honoring “in his name I pray” we commit to follow God, his way, his time and upon doing so bring honor to him.”

Luke 22:42 NIV “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” This is the prayer Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane before he was arrested and crucified. So, if Jesus our Lord can pray the prayer of not my will Lord but yours, maybe we should too because he wants nothing but the best for you and me.

To all my favorite names that go with all my favorite faces…have a most blessed day and Thank you for joining me🥰
