Labor Day…

Happy 3 day weekend for some of you. Happy bargain shopping day for some of you. Happy last camping weekend of the summer before school starts for some of you. Happy Monday…LOL, I had to say it because happy and Mondays don’t usually go together.

Do you know the true meaning behind Labor Day? “Labor Day is a national holiday that was created to celebrate the American worker and what their work brought to the economy.”

It came about in the late 1800’s due to the “Industrial Revolution” there were no laws or protection governing the working man. They worked 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, no health benefits, no sick leave benefits, in actuality no benefits at all except, except a few coins dropped in their lunch bucket at the end of the day.

In due time workers started to talk amongst themselves, gathering together, became organized and fought back against these harsh working conditions and environments. The first labor unions came about and changes were made within these factories and mills. June 28, 1894, U.S. President Grover Cleveland signed the bill that created the holiday “Labor Day.”

The word labor itself sounds tiring; “expenditure of physical or mental effort”, “services performed by workers for wages”, “human activity that provides the goods or services in an economy.” See what I mean?

As we already have discovered God worked for six days and rested on the seventh. Genesis 2:1-3a NCV “So the sky, the earth, and all that filled them we’re finished. By the seventh day God finished the work he had been doing, so he rested from all his work.” “God blessed the seventh day and made it holy.”

Let’s see what else God has to say about labor and work!

Ecclesiastes 3:13 NCV “God wants all people to eat and drink and be happy in their work, which are gifts from God.”

Proverbs 12:11 NLT “A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.”

Proverbs 23:29 NLT “Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than ordinary people.”

Proverbs 16:3 NIV “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”

Are you happy in your job? We all have days but I mean are you doing what you love, your calling? I know working is a means of survival but that doesn’t mean you have to stay where you are miserable. If you are among the blessed who loves their job, Hallelujah!!! However if you aren’t one of the blessed few, Pray about your situation! Check out some online courses you can do in the evening at home! Just because you have to put in the 9-5 at the grind doesn’t mean you don’t have choices…they are out there, you might just have to do some digging, asking, looking and possibly making some changes but then that would be what it was all about in the first place. Right!!!

Wherever you are today, I wish for you a fun day filled with family and sunshine, or a quiet peaceful afternoon just you and a good book. If you are one of the few who have to labor this Labor Day, I pray for you a fun, blessed day at work. Make it a great day! And as always, thank you for joining me. 🥰

Commitment…

We are living in a time period where “extinction” is a grave concern. When I hear this word my mind automatically goes to animals. Top 15 animals in danger are: Javan rhinoceros, cheetah, tiger, Red tuna, Asian elephant, Vaquita porpoise, Mountain gorilla, Irrawaddy River dolphin, Sumatran orangutan, Baulan turtle, polar bears, Magellanic penguins, giraffe, jaguar, and the Mexican grey wolf. If these species and breeds disappear, it means forever.

I also fear that the word and actions of “Commitment” is also becoming close to extinction.

Companies no longer have a commitment to their employees and in fact corporate heads have regular cut the budget meetings. Who and what get cuts, employees and or benefits. Both a subject of commitment. Hours are cut so insurance isn’t a requirement, staff is cut so those left are doing twice the work with the same pay, oh and there won’t be a Christmas or year end bonus this year…Times are hard, you understand? Right???

Quality, this commitment is also hard to find today and when you do the price is outrageous. If we make a small change here, tweek this a bit there, use the thinner metal on that, and this plastic clip should hold it!!! Right??? “Hello, customer service…I just received my product and have only used it twice and it’s broken.” Sound familiar???

“For better or worse, richer or poorer, sickness or in health, or until I just can’t handle it anymore or someone better comes along!!! I will begin with I’ve been divorced so no judgment, but marriage, it’s certainly lost its commitment. To vow to stay married the rest of your life is a commitment to the highest degree and one of obviously the hardest to keep. Certainly, but you made the vow! The averages of divorce are between 40 & 50%. It should just be called a beautiful wedding day until we don’t feel like doing it any longer. I’ve been married 19 years and I can tell you it’s not always easy, but it’s a commitment of love and honor!!!

Here are some synonyms of commitment: Constancy, Dedication, Devotion, Loyalty and Steadfast. We all know individuals like this, people in our work place, school, church, clubs, etc…who exhibit the quality traits that are worth admiration. I would highly imagine these are the people you; watch, look up to and respect. As you should, they’ve earned it.

Sadly these days I find we observe quite the opposite in our work place, schools, social events and even church; The half way commitment, committee members and employees; these are the ones who stand on the sidelines and make suggestions, start but then suddenly are gone and no one knows where they went or the ones, who call right at the last moment with an excuse as to why they can’t. Here are the antonyms of commitment: disloyal, inconsistent, false, and unfaithful. Sadly, we all know our share of these types too. The participation trophy generation!!!

There is one person in your life that is the perfect definition and example of commitment and that is Jesus.

Deuteronomy 31:6 NCV “Be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid of them and don’t be frightened, because the Lord you God will go with you. He will never leave you or forget you.”

Deuteronomy 7:9 NCV “So know that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God. He will keep his agreement of love for a thousand lifetimes for people who love him and obey his commands.”

2 Timothy 4:7 NCV “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

So in closing; Colossians 3:23 NCV “In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people.”

Do the best you can do! Be the best you can be! Give all that you can! You will carry within self satisfaction and beware, because you just never know who’s watching and learning by your example. Make today a smile day with sunshine on your shoulder! Thank you for committing to and joining me this morning our Lords morning! Be Blessed 🥰

Wisdom…

Wisdom = “Good Sense: Judgment, Accumulated philosophy or scientific learning: Knowledge, Ability to discern: Insight.”

Smart = “having or showing a high degree of mental ability: intelligent, bright.”

Book smart – “is an adjective describing a person whose knowledge greatly derives from Book Learning…as opposed to its wilder sibling Street smart – “also an adjective describing someone who knows how to deal with difficult or dangerous situations, especially in big city environments.”

As you can see, these two travel in similar circles but are actually quite different. One can be book smart and need to be told to come out of the rain. Another can have intuitions and a keen sense of survival but is not quite the scholar. Can we connect the two? I believe we can, with desire, work and help.

Within us lives the ability to possess and grow each of these skills. We just have to have the hunger to do so. Within this past year I began asking for “wisdom” in my prayers. Slowly, I began to notice growth and changes in me and in certain areas of my personality. I also noticed changes in thoughts and how I was processing said thoughts along with applying them to daily situations.

For example: I have been known to be a bit short on patience, especially in situations that scream stupidity, not a trait I’m proud of but still a fact, anyway…I was in the bank ATM line the other day. Lines a mile long, to be expected it’s the 1st of the month. Phew, I finally make it, I’m the next car in line for the ATM machine…I look over and assure Bella the Schnauzer who is thinking we’re stopped I should be able to get out and is looking at me with her big brown eyes full of disgruntled expectation…no, we are both setting in here waiting!!! Anyway, the little gal in the car ahead of me was apparently having some trouble. She was elderly and after what looked like the third attempt at her business I feel the ME start to rise, “come on dear, if you don’t know what you are doing go inside”… the roll of the eyes, slight shake of the head … instantly the wisdom I have been praying for kicked in. No, Seriously!!! I was just as amazed…

I all of a sudden felt her frustration and panic, knowing that there was a long line behind her, and everyone was watching … Pressure starts to build … and with pressure making us more nervous, what happens? Mistakes or additional mistakes to the ones we’re already making. The Lord filled me with compassion, understanding and peace for this poor woman. I quietly sat and waited which I must tell you made my wait so much nicer then what could have been my normal and that would have been climbing on the steering wheel, and complaining in impatient frustration, which by the way would have changed nothing. I knew instantly it was the wisdom I’m learning. The me, I and God work on everyday.

James 1:5 NCV “But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous to everyone and will give you wisdom without criticizing you.”

Proverbs 3:13-15 NCV “Happy is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gets understanding. Wisdom is worth more than silver, it brings more profit than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies.”

Proverbs 1:7 NCV “Knowledge begins with respect for the Lord, but fools hate wisdom and discipline.”

Matthew 7:24 NCV “Everyone who hears my words and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on a rock.”

1 Corinthians 1:30 NCV “Because of God you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God. In Christ we are put right with God, and have been made holy, and have been set free from sin.”

I appreciate the wisdom, peace and joy I am learning to walk in…I hope you will give it a try! The next time you are talking to our Lord, start asking for wisdom…he’ll be thrilled to bless you. It’s gentle and quiet and you don’t even know you’ve started acquiring until you notice a different you…a kinder, easier you! Be Blessed today and as always…Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Rainbows…

I love Rainbows, always have… that beautiful phenomenon that happens after a rain. Science can explain all it’s scientific ways and reasons of the rainbow. I choose to reflect on God’s promises.

Genesis 9:12-15 NLT “Then God said, ”I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is a sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life.”

Genesis is the first book in the Bible…here’s a quote from Revelations…the last book in the Bible;

Revelations 101-3 NLT “Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, surrounded by a cloud, with a rainbow over his head. His face shone like the sun, and his feet were like pillars of fire. And in his hand was a small scroll that had been opened. He stood with his right foot on the sea and his left foot on land. And he gave a shout like that of a roar of a lion. And when he shouted, the seven thunders answered.”

There is also a symbolic numeric meaning within the number of the 7 colors…4 representing the 4 Cardinal directions: East, West, North and South…added to the symbolic number of 3 which is the Trinity: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Along with the numeric symbols, the colors themselves carry symbolic meanings:

Red: Is the first Arc of the rainbow and is the longest in light and length. Red corresponds to the Arch Angel Uriel which represents; wisdom and energy. Red is also known as the color of love, passion and life.

Orange: Is the second Arc of the rainbow. Representing creativity and the ability to enjoy oneself. Orange has also been signified with religion, healing and enthusiasm.

Yellow: The third Arc of the rainbow, this color being associated with the Arch Angel Jophiel… representing brilliance of wisdom and thoughts. Yellow is also signified with nature, the sun, personal power and clarity.

Green: The fourth Arc in the color spectrum. We find our Arch Angel Raphael setting amongst this beautiful shamrock shade representing: health, wealth and love. Green has also been know to signify immortality and nature.

Blue: The fifth Arc of color … Our Mighty Arch Angel Michael represents blue… Signifying spirituality, connection to water and the spirit world. Fidelity, art and divinity are also connected to this color.

Indigo: The sixth Arc of color which represents a bridge between the conscious and subconscious. The ability to see the unseen on a spiritual level. This color is highly symbolic in patriotism, harmony and infinity.

Violet:. Our seventh and final Arc of color within this beautiful display of Gods love and promises…is Violet and this color represents mercy, access to the imagination and divine inspiration. Spiritual Consciousness!!! Also representative of service, spirituality and royalty.

So remember, when the rains hit whether outside in nature or inside your personal self, a rainbow of God’s love will always follow, along with a new freshness that wasn’t there before. Never forget, the sun always shines after a rain and a rainbow will appear. On this you can always count on. So the next time you see a rainbow think of God, his love for you and smile knowing he’s always there and his promises never fail. On this too, you can always count on !!!

Go out, search for your pot of gold today, it’s out there you just have to look. Have a most blessed day and as always … Thank you for joining me.😘

Angels…

Do angels exist? Are they these fat little cherubs who fly around on Valentine’s Day shooting people with love arrows. No, but you might be surprised to know there are such beings and they are called cherubim’s, and they are noted as heavenly creatures standing nearest to God’s throne.

We have the Archangels: “Micheal: The protector and leader of God’s army, Rapheal: The angel of healing; was thought to be the angel who stirred up the waters in the healing pool as noted in the book of John, Gabriel: God is my strength and is the guardian angel over Isreal, he has also been dubbed the guardian angel of travel. Uriel: often identified as a cherub and the angel of repentance. He stands guardian at the gates of the Garden of Eden, Saraqael: He watches over the spirits of sin. He’s known as the protector of death, Raguel: The angel of Judiac traditions. The Angel of Justice, almost always called the archangel of: fairness, harmony, vengeance and redemption, and Remiel: The angel of hope also known as God’s Thunder and God’s Mercy…He guides the souls to heaven.”

Angels are God’s messengers and His spirit army, and they are as numerous as the stars in the sky. Their role is carrying out God’s purpose both in the heavens and here with us on Earth.

There is a battle going on everyday in our world and in the heavenly realms. The age old battle of Good vs. Evil. We are in the days and times of much evil and discord. This is one reason we need to put on Godly Armor every morning but we also need to surround ourselves with his: Guardian, Warring and Ministering angels…

Because One Should Never Forget; the underworld has its own battalion: Moloch, Chemosh, Dagon, Belial, Beelzbub and the King Pin himself, Satan. These are fallen angels from heaven and their mission is to help you fall… temptation into world’s locked with: addictions, lies, darkness, falling, losing, aloneness, destruction and often death.

Psalms 78:49 NCV ” He showed them his hot anger. He sent his strong anger against them, his destroying angels.”.

Psalms 91:11 NCV “He has put his angels in charge of you to watch over you wherever you go.” This scripture is also repeated in Luke 4:10 (old and new testament scriptures align)

Matthew 24:31 NCV “He will use a loud trumpet to send his angels all around the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from every part of the world.”

John 20:11-12 NCV ” But Mary stood outside the tomb, crying. As she was crying, she bent down and looked inside the tomb. She saw two angels dresses in white, sitting where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and one at the feet.”

I love the angels and call upon them daily, I don’t back my car out of the driveway without a prayer, surrounding me and mine with the, you guessed it… the “guardian, warring, and ministering angels”. Do they walk amount us? I personally believe they do and even though I don’t have scripture to back this, we’ve all heard or read through the years, many accounts of unidentified people or a person at a car accident, fire, whatever the emergency…”that there was someone here with me and then they were gone!!! ” Hmmmmm…

We are asked to give and share what we are blessed with, with others…I know in my spirit that the Lord has put people and situations in my path and given me the choice to help or not, I have a time or two felt these were angels in disguise. ???Maybe???

I’m going to end today with one of my most favorite scriptures in the Bible and one I try to live by everyday.

Hebrews 13:2 NLT “Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!”

So the next time you see someone in need and something sparks within your spirit…stop, heed and help…it just might be an angel and even if it isn’t an angel it’s one of God’s children. Make it a most blessed day and…Thank you for joining me.🥰

Hope…

Where would we be without hope? It sounds like such a simple word and is used so frequently it’s lost its true power. Two definitions of the word hope are: “to cherish a desire with anticipation”, “to want something to happen or to be true.”

To cherish a desire with anticipation: Christmas morning, retiring, that vacation of your dreams, children grown, turning 16 and getting your driver’s license, your wedding that you have planned in your head right down to the tiniest detail. Heaven!!! Hope, desire, anticipation- words filled with electricity a natural body surge goes through you at the thought or discussion of. Goosebumps!!!

To want something to happen or be true; this one is a bit trickier because it falls in the “hopes and dreams” category. We can want to, hope for, dream of, strive toward, but wisdom would tell us this is when we would want to start praying. God has a plan and will for your life.

Jeremiah 29:11 NCV “say this because I know what I am planning for you, ‘says the Lord’. I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.”

This doesn’t mean you should stop working toward, studying for, learning how, pressing in; God puts desires in our hearts for a reason. He gives each of us our own talents, personalities and gifts to achieve ones said hope, dreams and desires.

In the early 90’s my boss/girlfriend, took another girlfriend and I to a “Women of Faith” conference weekend. The speakers were 5 women ranging in ages, sizes, backgrounds and nationalities. The one thing these women all had in common was a story about life and the Lords saving grace. They made us laugh, cry, cheer and think. I fell in love… instantly wanted to do just that. Oh, to be able to stand on a stage and tell my story and write about God’s Love…I can do that. Prayers started, how to write books got read and…25 years go by!!! Did the dream happen? Did the hope die?

I turned 60 August 6th and the Lord blessed me with this blog August 7th…am I a famous author? No!!! Am I writing for Him? Yes!!! Am I on a stage speaking of his love, protection and provision? Not Yet!!! It’s Never to Late, the 5 women I speak of were all in their late 40’s to late 60’s. Some of the most famous names in our history books came to be later in their lives or careers.

Galatians 6:9 NLT “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.”

If he’s put a dream in your heart, a glimmer of hope in your spirit…continue moving in that direction. Remember he leads us forward in peace. Don’t give up, don’t stop dreaming, don’t let anyone pop your bubble. This is between you and God. You got this!!! Have a most blessed day, look up smile and ask him to guide your steps…he will! Then be patient and wait…your day will come! Thank You for joining me🥰you are so appreciated! ❤️🙋‍♀️

911-The Lord’s Dispatch…

911- This is the Lord, what is your emergency? Is your relationship with our creator still one of “panic” or “catastrophe?”. Crisis mode, is the only time you talk to him or think of him? There are some who might think that’s sad, well I think that’s a great place to start!!! As long as you don’t stay there … 😉

I’m going to give you some phone numbers to use so that your call can be directed correctly. Jesus desires a relationship with you on a day to day basis but you also need to know, He’s always there!!!

Scared:

Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

John 14:27 NLT “ I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

2 Timothy 1:7 NLT “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self discipline.”

Anxious or Worried:

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he’s done.”

Matthew 6:25-27 NLT “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more then clothing. Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your Heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you far more valuable to him then they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”

Broken or Hopeless:

Psalms 34:18 NLT “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted;he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

Jeremiah 29:11 NLT “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are great plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Tired:

Matthew 12:28-30 NLT “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Isaiah 40:31 NLT “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

Lonely:

Joshua 1:5 NLT “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.”

Joshua 1:9 NLT “Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

James 4:8 NLT “ Come close to God and he will come close to you.”

Last Day In August…

Can you feel the change? The mornings are a bit crisp and it’s been taking a little longer for the sun to warm up the shady spots. Sir Fall is gently knocking on the door as it’s about his shift. Summer’s duties are almost over and she is ready for her period of slumber.

Season’s, the passing of time; God’s gigantic clock.

We are drifting into Autumn, the leaves are starting to do their beautiful dance of transformation from startling greens to hues of amber, red and golds. It’s back to school time, the smell of your school supplies, all perfect with not a mark on them, your back to school clothes and the major decision of what to wear the first day. What to wear? Fall is tricky as he starts off a bit cool and detached but ends up warm and friendly…fall is layers, sweatshirts, football and walking in the leaves that lay scattered about.

Old Man Winter, his name even sounds grouchy and most of the time he is. He can be a cold customer to deal with and you better show up prepared because he has no conscience nor mercy within his elements. He is often the most beautiful though; with his coat of crystal white adorned with shades of blue and prism that sneak out and join the rays of sunshine still brave enough to shine in the sky. Cold winter however does bring warm thoughts of fires in fireplaces, warm snuggly blankets, hot chocolate and Christmas; the joy, colors, music and magic that is all wrapped up in shiny paper adorned with a big red bows…The Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Greatest gift ever given!!!

From our winter slumber, we Spring into action. The world is waking up. The blanket of snow and ice are melting away as the sun is gearing up for her debut. Flowers of every glorious pastel color imaginable, start popping up from their under ground beds and are stretching and waving at the sun. Spring to me is Easter…another ressurection. He arouse from the dead, beating death, so we may have life. 1 Corinthians 15:4 NCV “that he was buried and was raised to life on the third day as the scriptures say.” Within him, we are saved!

And here we are, another circle, another year as we are back to summer. She is rested and ready to shine her heart out so we can splash and play in her warmth. Enjoy nature’s sounds, smells and beauty. Share our yard happily with the buzz of the bumblebees, the flutter of the hummingbirds and the floating waltz of the butterflies. To feel the warmth of God’s Love shinning down on you from his heavens. Oh the glorious days of summer, I’m not ready to give you up yet!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NCV. “There is a time for everything and everything on Earth has its special season. There is a time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to pull up plants. There is a time to kill and a time to heal. There is a time to destroy and a time to build. There is a time to cry and a time to laugh. There is a time to be sad and a time to dance. There is a time to throw away stones and a time to gather them. There is a time to hug and a time to not hug. There is a time to look for something and a time to stop looking for it. There is a time to keep things and a time to throw things away. There is time to tear apart and a time to be together. There is a time to be silent and a time to speak. There is a time to love and a time to hate. There is a time for war and a time for peace.”

So whatever place you are in right now, whatever the season within your world, you are not alone. Jesus is with you whether you are fighting the frigid cold slap of reality, having a hot flash surge and your body and emotions are in tornado season or whether you are in a blessed season and are enjoying that fruity drink poolside…he is with you…Always!!! Enjoy your day whatever the weather outside you can always make it a sunny day inside. Be Blessed today and as always, thank you for joining me 🥰

Do You Matter???

Do you ever feel like you don’t matter, don’t count, aren’t noticed? Do you walk in the world feeling invisible? Surprise, you aren’t alone! I would imagine there are probably more experiencing these feelings then one would guess.

We can be seen but are we really looked at, did you notice the pain in my eyes? Did you notice my smile didn’t go beyond my mouth? Did you notice the loneliness in my spirit? Did you notice my smile fade and sadness creep in when you barked at me? Did you notice me setting alone in the lunchroom? Did you notice I’m alone a lot and act afraid of my shadow? Did you take the time to ask, are you alright and really mean it?

It’s so easy to see people everyday, in our home, workplace, grocery store, neighbors across the street but do we really see them? The world is in such a fast frantic pace that often the day becomes a blur and the people around us just one of the many colors spinning in the vortex of our daily lives.

I’ll give you a call, we’ll do lunch, let’s get together soon, I miss our visits we should do this more often, I can’t believe how much time has gone by, call me if you need anything, I will pray for you!!! Do these sound familiar, of course they do these comments are as casual these days as saying “Hello”…

Becareful, because what may be a casual reply or response to you might just be a lifeline to someone else. Someone who would give anything to have a lunch date with you, is setting waiting for you to give them that call…someone who desperately needs your prayers. Someone who just needs someone to care.

We are just people and people make mistakes, get busy, have our own full plates. We really intended to call or stop by, to mail that sympathy card that’s been laying on the dining room table for over a week now because you keep forgetting to buy stamps…this is life…we are human.

So, I know this guy, he’s my best friend and he’s always there to listen if I need to talk, to offer his shoulder if I need to cry, wraps me in his loving arms when I’m afraid and is never to busy to stop and to really look in my eyes and ask me what is wrong. His name is Jesus.

Deuteronomy 31:6 NCV “Be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid of them and don’t be frightened, because the Lord your God will go with you. He will never leave you or forget you.”

Do you know Jesus? Have you ever slowed down to look in his eyes, feel his pain, know his sorrow? For every soul who doesn’t know him or rejects him, he grieves. To share your life with him, have your name written in the book of Life, to spend eternity in peace, splendor and more beauty then our minds can imagine, all it takes is one simple prayer, prayed aloud before him.

Matthew 10:32-33 NCV “All those who stand before others and say they believe in me, I will say before my Father in heaven that they belong to me. But all who stand before others and say they do not believe in me, I will say before my Father in heaven that they do not belong to me.”

This is a circle of friends you don’t want to be on the outskirts of, and none in that circle want you out there…you are welcome here.

“Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I want the life giving water that you have offered me through your son Jesus Christ. I believe you sent him to die on the cross for my sins. I accept this sacrifice of love and ask Jesus to come into my heart, Holy Spirit come into my spirit that I may live my life on Earth with you and spend my Eternity in heaven with you. In your glorious name Jesus I pray these things. Amen

If you just prayed that prayer, the heavens are rejoicing and God is smiling. Welcome to the family. You’re going to like it here. Have a most blessed day and don’t forget to look up from time to time and say hello to your new best friend…he’s always there!!!

Make this Sunday, our Lords day a blessed and happy one…don’t forget to enjoy the sunshine on your shoulder. Thank you for joining me.🥰

Community…

Do you belong to a community? The dictionary defines this as: “a unified body of individuals, people with common interests, living in a particular area.”

Most of the time we think of a community as the place or neighborhood we live in or grew up in, as we should, it’s the first example of it’s definition. I was blessed to grow up in a small town where everyone knew you, you knew everyone and as a kid if you were somewhere you weren’t supposed to be, chances are your mom knew it before you even got home. As a kid this was kind of a hindrance, as an adult I see it was being loved…I had more then one mom growing up and in our generation chances are you did too!!!

Communities actually come in as much of an array of: people, places, groups, clubs, organizations and beliefs as we have colors of the spectrum. The reason today’s writing came to mind is I play an online game and within this game there is a coffee lounge (as Ive mentioned) I have a group that I meet each day (if we can) and we share virtual coffee but what we really share is a community. We have been playing together for a little while now and the comradery, respect, dedication to our team, the way we teach each other tricks and in competitions giving time saving hints, laughter and lately emotional support, because a new found friendship has evolved for 15 people who live from Oregon to Florida and states in between, to Ireland and France…

There are many communities available within your community, you’ll be surprised when you start looking. I was a Rainbow Girl in my youth and loved it, as I got older and my children were raised I joined another much loved community and that’s my Oregon City Pioneer Chapter of Eastern Star…my oldest granddaughter who is a pledge with Rainbows calls me just an older, slightly wrinkled Rainbow girl…lol, you will notice she says “slightly wrinkled.” 3 years ago, I walked into a chapter hall full of faces I didn’t know but we had one thing in common…we all wanted to be there! There’s a start of your relationship, you already have something in common.

There are: sewing clubs, reading clubs, coloring clubs, chess clubs, rodeo clubs, motorcycle clubs, hiking clubs; the list can go on as long as the list of interests can. It isn’t healthy to shut yourself off and in, I am a homebody these days and can go for days without leaving my house, thats ok as I have communities I belong to within and outside my 4 walls. We all need human interaction; we all need to care and be cared for, we all need to notice and be noticed.

Hebrews 10:24-25a NIV “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NCV “Two people are better then one, because they get more done by working together. If one falls down, the other can help him up. But it is bad for the person who is alone and falls, because no one is there to help.”

The church, the followers of Christ is one of the oldest, most tried and true communities known to man. Sadly, finding the right church can feel as hard a finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. My husband and I have moved a few times in his career and finding the right church was always the hardest. Don’t give up, keep looking until one Sunday you walk in and it feels like home, the people feel right and your minister is teaching from the bible.

Maybe you are already in a church but still feel alone, make it a little smaller, join the women or mens bible study group that meets in the middle of the week. Here’s a thought, start one of your own, chances are if you are in a large congregation you aren’t the only one feeling lost or invisible. Not ready for the whole church thing, accept that offer from a co-worker to join their little worship group they have on Wednesday nights…

Could be you are shy a bit introverted then what…do what I do, make one of your kids go with you, LOL…I understand that it can be intimidating walking into a room, a chapter hall or a church alone, where it feels like every eye is on you. Take a deep breath, smile and wait for the greeters to kick into action and they will. If you’ve been following me then you know I am in that room somewhere just waiting for you to walk in so I can come over and say hi, introduce myself and find you more people to talk to…and a great place to set, probably close to me. 🙂

Write down your hobbies or interests, go online do a search I bet you find there’s a group just right for you and they are just waiting for you to join them. I am so glad you join me…see you are part of my group already…if you’d ever like to talk or message…I’m here.

Have a most blessed Saturday, go outside…make it a fun one…the world is your oyster, you just have to crack it open. I appreciate you being a part of my community and as always … Thank you for joining me. 🥰
