Keep Your Eye on the Prize…

We all grew up hearing the aged adage, “keep your eye on the prize.” In actuality, it means to stay focused. To keep looking toward and striving for, not giving up when it seems hopeless.

I choose to believe my prize is Jesus Christ, and as long as I keep my eyes on him, all that I am working towards, struggling with, and hoping for are possible.

Matthew 19:26 NCV “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘For people this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”

What is your prize? The list could be endless; to be the top salesman this month at work, to continue to say no to the junk food cupboard, the few debts you wish to pay off, the long to-do list, and the focus to get one thing done at a time, or to make a place for yourself on the team. Why not invite Jesus to partner with you? It’s always more fun to work out with a partner; you help hold each other up.

Philippians 4:13 NLT “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

The book of Matthew, chapter 14, verses 22-31, is when Jesus walked on water, and Simon Peter asked to join him.

Matthew 14:27 NLT “But Jesus spoke to them at once. ‘Don’t be afraid,’ he said. ‘Take courage. I am here!”

Matthew 14:29-30 NLT “Yes, come,’ Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. ‘Save me, Lord!’ He shouted.

Matthew 14:31 NLT “Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. ‘You have so little faith,’ Jesus said. ‘Why did you doubt me?’

I love the line “Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him” it is no different for us today. If the waves get to high, he will immediately reach out and grab you. I find so much comfort in this and hope you will also.

Whatever prize you are striving for, reach out your hand, invite Jesus to join you whether you are walking in a storm or learning to slow down. Keep you eyes on him, keep taking one step in front of the other, one at a time. Don’t get caught up in the what-ifs; instead, get caught up in the great “I Am” and go for it.

Have a fun day today…Be blessed and thank you for joining me. 🥰

God the Father…

God The Father, Christ the Son, The Holy Spirit are three in one. I’m not about to get into the depths of the three as separate identities but one being. I don’t know enough, nor do I feel the right. I do know that we, as humans, have our fleshly bodies, our character-personalities, and our spirits-souls, three in one. My daughter sees people’s spirits in colors. I am yellow!!! I like that; it feels warm, soft, and giggly.

We’ve all seen pictures of man’s interpretation of how Jesus looked. But, what does the father look like, the Supreme being. He looks like love! And, just how does love look? I don’t know, you tell me.

I’m reading “The Shack by William Paul Young,” in which God appears to the main character as a voluptuous loving African-American woman. Why? In the writer’s story, Mack has terrible memories of the men in his world, so God comes to him as a loving, happy, soulful woman. My grandma had a best friend named Patrola who was just like that. I loved her so much, I remember she always asked for some sugar, which was a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Patrola was pure love, you could just feel it!!! I picture her as I read.

I was blessed with a loving relationship with my dad and my grandpa, so it’s straightforward for me to see God in a male essence, My Papa God. Perhaps you see Gandalf, Dumbledor, or The Pope, or a bit of all three rolled into one. Maybe you see a controlling, damning, angry God sitting on his throne just waiting to zap someone? I hope not as nothing could be farther from the truth.

In this book, I’m reading, which I highly recommend, God bears the same scars on his wrists as Jesus does. That hit home for me; God the Father, Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit three in one. The next time you try and picture love picture…

John 3:16-18 NIV “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned,”

Whether you recognize it, know it or even feel it; you are loved. All you have to do is accept it. Have a blessed day and thank you for joining me.🥰

Let Freedom Ring!!!

Today is a perfect day to celebrate our freedom. The people of the United States went out yesterday and, because of their liberty, cast their votes for their favorite political candidates.

I wish to share some of the freedoms found in our Lord Jesus Christ; freedoms from and to:

From Guilt: Romans 8:1 NCV “So now, those who are in Christ Jesus are not judged guilty.”

From Shame: Romans 10:11 NIV “Scripture says, ‘Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”

From Fear of Death: 2 Timothy 1:10 NLT “And now he has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the good news.”

Bondage of Sin: Romans 6:14 NLT “Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead you live under the freedom of God’s Grace.”

Anxiety or Worry: Philippians 4:6 NLT “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

To be an Heir: Galatians 4:7 NLT “Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you an heir.”

To Enter the Gates of Heaven: John 14:1-3 NLT “ Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God and trust in me. There is more than enough room in my father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

If you struggle with your freedoms in the Lord, talk to him about them, ask him to help you see and understand. If you need freedom from bondage, speak with him about deliverance. If you are afraid, talk your fears out with him. Whatever is going on in your world, both good and bad, remember, always, we have the freedom to approach the throne boldly. (Hebrews 4:16)

Start today in your freedom, talk to him, laugh with him, cry, be sad, or mad with him. You have the freedom to share a relationship with our Lord; make it yours, make it personal. That’s your given right. Be blessed, and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Quiet Time…

The world is too loud. There is noise everywhere. It’s hard to think sometimes because of all the distractions. I tend to get nervous, a bit anxious, a little testy, and completely scatterbrained when there’s just too much.

Your day probably started with an alarm clock, a small person’s demands, your spouse’s needs, someone has the TV or radio on. The phones have already begun, emails checked, earbuds in, check!

Then we face the traffic, horns honking, sirens off in the distance, the car beside yours, blaring radio. The sound of the big truck that just roared past, the Harley that just scooted around you, and the musical noise of their pipes, all sounds of the highways and byways.

The office, retail establishments, and all medical environments have music in the background ranging from a screaming blare to a soft sound circulating in the air. Your own home, car, and space more than likely have some sort of noise going on somewhere.

When was the last time you allowed yourself some quiet time? I don’t mean listening to music alone as you do your daily routine; I mean peaceful quiet, so quiet you hear your spirit sigh. Time to set and try and not think but to just observe and feel, there is something very powerful in connecting into ourselves and nature.

Matthew 14:23 NCV “After he had sent them away, he went by himself up into the hills to pray. It was late, and Jesus was there alone.”

Mark 1:35 NIV “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

You see, the Lord is telling us in his word and by his example that we need alone quiet time. It might be after the family has gone to bed, possibly it’s rising a bit earlier then everyone in the morning and starting your day with a cup of tea or coffee and quiet spirit time. Could be in the bathtub after dinner once the kitchen is cleaned. You may only have your drive to and from work, perfect, turn off the radio and tune into God and his beauty.

I love to be outside, go take a walk around your neighborhood it’s a beautiful time of year for that. Take a comfy pillow and watch the sunset off your back porch or pier. Snuggle in a blanket and look for the mans face in the moon or count the twinkling stars.

Feed yourself with some you time and don’t forget the hot chocolate. Have a blessed day and I hope a spot or two of quiet. Thank you for being here and joining me. 🥰

Scared…

We, as a world, have become scared. We have no idea what tomorrow holds. Some of us are scared our current president of the United States won’t be reelected, and some are afraid he will. We as a society now wear masks as there is a scary virus that’s silently attacking at random. We are scared to go out after dark because the boogie man has become real, and we are no longer allowed to protect ourselves, and those sworn to protect are being ordered to stop.

Our climate is changing rapidly, and there is much fear over the animals that need ice and cold. Mother nature is mad and throwing temper tantrums everywhere, wiping out cities, towns, and villages. Our weather is out of control: horrific fires, torrential rain, devastating hurricanes, crippling tornadoes, and annihilating earthquakes.

A life no longer holds value, and I don’t care what color your skin is; the news is on a mission, so we hear what they want us to. I’m sorry, but if you draw a weapon on a police officer, you will feel the sting of the law or self-protection. Why aren’t their riots for the men in blue who have lost their lives to the corrupt and deranged? What about their families who cry? Why don’t they have a mike screaming about the injustice? Why is everybody screaming at each other?

This isn’t meant to be a news or political post; it’s meant to show we all are afraid, we all lose, we all suffer injustice from time to time, we are all scared of what today and tomorrow holds. We are in dark times. I believe we are in the end times; read Revelations. That’s reason to be scared.

John 8:12 NLT“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk In darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

Isaiah 41:10 NLT “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

2 Timothy 1:7 NLT “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but power, love, and self-discipline.”

The next time life gets overwhelming; you hear some news that makes you uneasy, you face a life trial and are unsure just what the outcome will be or the steps you may need to walk. Just remember, you aren’t alone; say a little prayer of peace and power and keep repeating until you feel it. It works, trust me. Have a blessed day and thank you for joining me.

A New Picture…

It’s a new month, which means a new picture on my calendars. I have a thing for calendars, and there are a few scattered throughout my home. I have the principal planner that I log and record in, but the rest are for sheer enjoyment. Who? and why? Does one get pleasure from calendars?

Many reasons, first off the art. I can flip the page to a new month, and a different faraway place to admire and dream of one-day visiting pops up. There are whimsical calendars that transport to a whole other realm and dimension where flowers have faces and elves wear shoes of leaves. There are calendars with scriptures, sarcastic satires, fat cats, adorable dogs, models in swimsuits, and the yearly firemen fundraiser.

There is also something fresh in turning the page to a crisp, clean, and spotless page of boxes that, in a short amount of time, will hold appointments, birthdays, meetings, and the don’t forgets. Now, scrawled with various colors of pen and pencils.

Each day is a new calendar day with God. We wake up to a clean page every day. A brand new picture is just waiting for you to enter. Yesterday is over; the scribble was left on yesterday’s page, so don’t drag it onto today’s. It’s a new day to write your story on and if you look at yesterday’s scribbles, be sure it’s just to learn from.

Lamentations 3:22-23 NCV, “The Lords, love never ends; his mercies never stop. They are new every morning; Lord, your loyalty is great.

It’s Sunday, Our Lords Day! I pray for you a day of peace, joy, and sunshine. Be blessed, and thank you for being here and joining me. 🥰

Where are You???

Genesis 3:8-9 “Then they heard the Lord God walking in the garden during the cool part of the day, and the man and his wife hid from the Lord God among the trees in the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said, “Where are you?”

From almost the very beginning of time, man has tried to hide his sins from God. Genesis is the first book of the Bible, and by chapter 3, we had already fallen to the snares of the evil one.

Satan fools man on a daily basis, but a man never fools God. The only person we are deceiving is ourselves. I find this to be freeing. I don’t have to keep up a facade. I don’t have to put on my best clothes. I don’t have to look like I have it all together when I don’t.

God already knows if your world looks and feels like a jigsaw puzzle. He already knows the secret you carry. He already knows what shame is hiding in your closet: food, alcohol, drugs, pornography, lies, abortion, cheating, spending, etc… He knows the tears you are crying, the fears that haunt.

Every day we get up, put on our clothes, and game face. We head out the door, get to work; paste on the smile, and go about our day. You look like you have it all together; perfect marriage, beautiful home, nice car, respectable children. The picture you live behind.

Just remember that there is one place you don’t have to hide. There is one who already knows and loves you just as you are. He’s waiting with arms open wide for you to walk into.

Matthew 11:28-29 NCV “Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads and I will give you rest. Accept my teachings and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest for your lives.”

Are you carrying a burden? The next time you think about hiding in the closet, look up instead. Talk to Jesus, he already knows your pain and shame, give it to him, free yourself.

If you need prayer send me a message, or a bible, please leave your name and address in the comments. And as always, thank you for being here and for joining me. 🥰

For You…I Pray

I feel the need to share a prayer this morning. I hope you will share it and are blessed. Dear Lord Our Father In Heaven;

Today is a new day, another day in your creation. As we start our day I give thanks that you are right beside us. Help us Lord to be tuned into your voice and leadings. Show us what you would have us do today. Give us the wisdom to make the right choices and decisions. Give us the spirit to turn to you when faced with making such.

You know our world is messed up and I believe it’s all your plans coming into fruition but that still doesn’t keep it from being scary. Give us the peace when our world is filled with anything but. Give us the strength to stand up for what is right, whether that makes us popular or not. Fill us with your spirit Lord that we would show your love and way to lost generations.

Give us the strength to be different and to make a difference, we are your example. We are to be your walking, talking light in a time of much darkness. Help us to shine. I thank you for making us so different that people are drawn to us and want to know what we have!!!

You ran with a motley crew Lord and now isn’t any different. We come in all shapes, sizes and colors. We ride motorcycles, horses, surf boards and trains. We sing, we dance, we preach, we share, we love and we care. We aren’t perfect by any means but then who could relate to perfect. We as Christians stumble and fall, help the world learn by our mistakes rather than judging us. Help us as Christians to gently help up those who have fallen without judging them.

Today is a new day Lord, thank you for sharing it with us, teaching and imparting your wisdom so we may grow closer to you each day. Thank you to those who love and pray for us every day. I bow before you with humble thanksgiving and for everything right in our lives as they are from you. Help us to take the time to notice the beauty around us and the surprise little trinkets of your love hidden here and there. In your name Lord Jesus, I give you all the praise and all the glory. Amen.

Go out and be blessed, but better yet, go out and be a blessing. Have a wonderful day, and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Memories…Be Careful!!!

Barbara Streisand’s voice and Robert Redfords face arrive immediately. “The Way We Were; memories light the corners of my mind. Misty water-colored memories of the way we were.” The phrase “misty watered-colored.” Van Gogh painted in watercolors, and though being beautiful, do not give us a clear, crisp image.

That’s my point this morning. We all have memories, both good and bad. Memories, little films of the past that run through our minds at any given moment.

The power of the mind is a mighty force to keep under reign. We use memories to learn and grow. We use memories to navigate through our daily lives. We use memories to make future decisions. We use memories to bring back glimpses of those we’ve lost and miss so very much—many memories of seasons that make us smile.

While all the reasons above are the good of memories, there is the bad side. This is where the phrase “misty water-colored memories” comes into play. We cannot forget the bad, and they’ve gained in magnitude or more dangerous, yet we don’t allow ourselves to remember how bad they were, and the memories become minimized.

Distorting memories is one of Satan’s favorite tricks, his lies. He’ll whisper in your ear; It wasn’t that good. It was boring, remember? Do you remember how good it made you feel? It wasn’t all bad; don’t, you remember the good times! Don’t you wish you could go back? It’s a waste of your time; your spouse will never change just divorce and make life easier. Your pain is too big and will never end; just make it easier on yourself; suicide will end your problem.

1 Peter 5:8 NLT “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”

Philippians 4:6-7 NCV “Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks. And God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

The next time a song comes on the radio and takes you back to another time and place, smile with the memory and let it drift on. The next time a memory wants you to remember a hurt, pray it off and move on. The next time a memory intends to fool you, shake it off, say a prayer, and walking on.

Memories, pictures of the past. Why not put them away and look at right now, find some good its always around and make a bright new memory. Enjoy yourself today; it’s fall and beautiful; go out and take some pictures! And, as always, Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Only Her Hairdresser Knows…

In 1956 Shirley Polykoff became another pioneer for women. She was the only female in a copywriting department; she was given the opportunity to create a slogan for a new product geared towards women. That product was “Miss Clairol Hair Color.” The slogan was “Does she or doesn’t she, hair color so natural only her hairdresser knows for sure.” (Wikipedia )

The reason I bring up the hairdresser is I spent yesterday afternoon with my hairstylist and girlfriend. We sat on the floor upstairs in the pink room, drank coffee, caught up on life, and shared our love for God. My girlfriend is also very spiritual; we need to stay plugged into those around us who feedback.

My girlfriend is getting to retire soon and, along with retirement, will be moving. I am so happy for her; she has fibromyalgia and hurts too much to do what she does. Along with my happiness for her, my female side is thinking, what am I going to do with my hair!!!

Speaking of hair, did you know that you are so important to God that he knows the exact number of hairs on your head? Luke 12:7a NCV “But God even knows how many hairs you have on your head.”

God loves you so much and is aware of everything that is happening in your life. He knows when you are hurting and he celebrates in your joy.

Psalms 56:8 NLT “You keep track of my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”

Zephaniah 3:17 NLT “For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful song.”

You see, God wants a relationship with you, a friendship. I spend more time sitting on the floor with a cup of coffee and Jesus in the pink room girl talking than with anybody else in my world. We all need to be connected to our earthly friends just don’t forget to invite your spiritual friend. He’s the best friend you will ever have or need. He’s always there; He’s continuously by your side; talk to Him; he’s waiting.

Thank you for sharing a moment of your day and possibly a cup of coffee with me; it means more than any of you will ever know. Be Blessed, and as always, Thank you for joining me. 🥰
