Just Ask!!!

Matthew 7:9-11 NIV “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will you give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

James 4:2 NIV “You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.

Matthew 7:7 NLT “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”

Mark 11:24 ESV “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Please understand that God isn’t a magic genie who will grant you three wishes. Our prayers need to align with his will! We need to ask with the right motives and desires.

James 4:3 NIV “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

Simply put, our requests and needs are for the good of God’s people, and you are one of his people. He will supply your needs, break those chains, tear down those walls, heal your body, marriage, career, or the wrong choices made along the way.

He is beside us to pick us up when we fall. To rejoice with us on our accomplishments. He is with you always and knows your needs before you do. He’s already there patiently waiting for you to arrive, look up and just ask!!!

I hope you have a blessed day and as always… Thank you for joining me. 🥰

Happy Easter…

Someone must have rolled the boulder away; the burial cloths lay scattered on the ground; the tomb was empty; where has he gone? Where have they taken him? According to the angel standing guard, Our Lord has Risen!!!

Today isn’t about pretty dresses, colored eggs, and chocolate bunnies. It is but one of the hundreds of prophecies Jesus fulfilled as he walked this earth.

John 2:19 NIV “Jesus answered them, ‘destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” Jesus is our Temple, Our Lord, Our Light and Our Way!!!

Psalm 119:105 ESV “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Today we celebrate resurrected life! The chains of death have been broken, the ultimate sacrifice was made. Because of Jesus, we are set free!

Dear Lord My Father In Heaven,

I thank you for the love you have for us. You became flesh and lived amongst us. You loved us, taught us, and warned us. You came to give life by sacrificing yours. I am a sinner, and I want to turn from the world’s ways and towards you, Lord. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and then rose again, and in believing in you and your mighty name, one day, I too will do the same. Please write my name in your book of life as I celebrate this day, new and with you. In your glorious name, I pray this prayer of redemption. Amen

Be blessed this day, one of our Most Holiest of Holidays. Thank you for joining me. 🥰

In Yesterday…

I was writing in my “I’m Thankful This Morning For” journal, and I had a dawning moment…I’d love to share!

When we allow our minds to take us back to places in the past that still haunt us, we enable ourselves to relive and relive the scenarios we wanted so badly to escape. Why? Why do we do this? Why do we even want to?

I am notorious for just this behavior, and as I was thanking God this morning for some changes taking place within me. I was a little surprised by the growth that has been happening within me that I hadn’t even begun to notice. You see, an earlier epiphany of, to be forgiven of our sins and wrongs, we are to forgive those who have hurt or wronged us.

I needed to stop dragging around the ugly pictures photo album, to stop being so intent at looking and remembering the hurtful pictures of yesterday that I completely stopped taking and noticing the smiling pictures of today!

Ephesians 4:32 NIV “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Matthew 6:14 NLT “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.”

I repeated and repeat these two scriptures every time an old hurt or memory would or does try and surface. They have been so influential in subduing my mind and freeing my attitude. They are creating the growth that God and I so desire.

Satan and the powers of the dark side love when we sit and look at the photo album full of tears; remember, he doesn’t want us to grow and be joyful and happy. Yet but another reminder to put the past back where it belongs. In Yesterday…

Thank you for being here with me today, and I pray it’s a most blessed one…🥰

Good Friday…

Today, we as believers in Jesus Christ recognize this day as a day of mourning. A day of extreme sadness as this is the day our Lord was hung on the cross for our sins. He died today for you and I…

Why is it then that we call it Good Friday? Etymology (the history of a linguistic form, such as a word shown by tracing it’s development since it’s earliest recorded occurrence in the language where it is found) “Good Friday” comes from the obsolete sense “pious, holy” of the word “good.” Less common examples of this obsolete sense of ‘good’ include “the good book” for the Bible, “good tide” for Christmas and “Good Wednesday” for the Wednesday in the Holy Week. (en.m.wikipedia.org)

Today, we aren’t calling this day of history and the treatment of our Lord good in the sense that we use the word good today. But in place of reverence and honor due to his love and sacrifice.

We know the rest of the story, so we know that much good comes from the actions of today’s remembrance. We know that in two days, we will celebrate the gift of resurrection, but for today, we bow our heads with quiet thanksgiving for the gift of life by the sacrifice of death.

Thank you for joining me today. 😔

From Max L. The King Has Risen!!!

In a few days we will celebrate Easter!

Some will rejoice in our Lord on this glorious day! Some will hide brightly colored eggs around the yard or house! Some will wake up to a basket full of chocolate goodies! Some will prepare a special meal to be shared with family! Some will do all of these!

I want to share part of my daily devotion with you this morning out of “God is with You Everyday” by Max Lucado

This Is Easter:

“If the angel was correct, then you can believe this: Jesus descended into the coldest cell of death’s prison and allowed the warden to lock the door and smelt the keys in the furnace. And just when the demons began to dance and prance, Jesus pressed pierced hands against inner walls of the cavern. From deep within he shook the cemetery. The ground rumbled, and the tombstones tumbled.

And out he marched, the cadaver turned king, with the mask of death in one hand and the keys of heaven in the other. He has risen!

What he did with his own grave he promises to do with yours: empty it!” Written by Max Lucado, “God’s Story, Your Story” & “God Is With You Everyday”

It’s the Easter spirit and season. New life is budding all around us! I pray this Easter you will let Jesus sprout in your heart and world. Trust me it’ll never be the same. Thank you for joining me this morning. Be blessed, and I hope for you some “son shine” on your face today. 🥰

Talkers Welcome Here…

I was writing in my Thankful Journal this morning, and one of the things that popped into my head was, “Lord, I’m thankful you never get tired of me.”

I talk to the Lord all day; I mean all day and about everything!!! I don’t have a prayer list per se that I run through every morning. I do have a prayer list, people I pray over and for, I am thankful for the biggest and tiniest of blessings, I ramble…

God doesn’t care that I express how cute those tiny purple flowers are while exclaiming they weren’t there yesterday. He smiles when I thank him when I sort of slip out of my clogs but don’t twist my ankle. He listens as I discuss what might be in my head at any given moment doing any given chore.

I share my life with Jesus, and He shares his life with me. He is my best friend. He knows my good side and my bad, loves me anyway! He holds me when I’m scared or weak and celebrates my victories right beside me.

I’m so far away from the person I aspire to be. I am far away from who some people expect me to be. I’m so far away from the person God has called me to be, but you know what, that’s ok because “He who began a good work in me will continue till the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 (for the entire verse)

Matthew 11:28 NIV “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Come to me, all.

Jeremiah 29:12-13 NIV “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” I will listen to you!

Hebrews 4:16 ESV “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” That we may receive mercy/and grace to HELP in time of need.

Whether we are approaching the throne in urgent prayer, sending up a prayer of need, praying prayers of thanksgiving, or standing in intercession repeating prayers for others. He is with us and listening.

Whether we are approaching the throne in delight at the spring flowers peeking out of the ground. Looking up with a smile as our grand baby giggles for the first time. Muttering in frustration, anger or confusion or simply stunned into silence. He is with us and listening.

Be blessed today knowing you too have a best friend, just waiting to spend some time with you, just you, wherever you are, however, you are!!! Thank you for joining me today. 🥰

Today’s the Day!

Psalms 118:24 NLT “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

I love this verse; I know I use it often, and here’s why. “This is the day the Lord has made.” He made it and is wanting to share it with you. You woke up to a new day and a clean slate. You have fresh air to breathe! You aren’t living in a battleground, well, at least not one with live ammunition going off in the background as the normal sounds of your day. We are blessed by being able to hear the birds still singing in the trees, the neighborhood dogs barking messages to each other, cars off in the distance, planes flying overhead, and somewhere a familiar train whistle blows. The simple sounds of nature and life.

“We will be glad and rejoice in it.” It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily grind, the have to do’s, the I don’t want to do’s, and the I’m tired of doings… I have to fight them over and over just like you but if I can find that one thing to rejoice over! I can turn my negative into a positive.

For example, I’m on watering duty this week. My husband has his shop full of teeny tiny seedlings…everywhere! This is a passion for him, this is a chore for me!!! However, I am in for full sun this afternoon. Yay I shall roll the one cart outside for watering and sun. I will throw open all the shop doors so the sun shines in there as I water and spray those babies growing in designated spots and incubators.

See, I just turned a negative into a positive; I think I will also fire up the earbuds, crank up some Zach Williams and try not to embarrass myself by serenading the neighbors with my praise and dancing as I water!!!

Be blessed, and I hope for you a smile today…as always, thank you for joining me. You are a blessing. 🥰❤️☀️

The Right Walk…

Ephesians 2:10 ESV “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

We are vessels from the hand of the mighty potter. We are his creations, in Christ Jesus. We are his, we belong to the master of the universe. He knows your name, who you are, where you live, what you love, hate, makes you laugh and what scares you! He knows you better than you know you!

We are created in Christ Jesus, for good works! Our good works do not make us, but within him are the results of our good works, which God prepared beforehand. We are called to share! We are walking, talking, acting representations of the Lord we love and confess.

“That we should walk in them,” my Pastor Lynn taught the Bible is “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth” the Lord has given us his ways to learn, his examples to follow, and answers to any question you may have. He is a living God who walks beside us every moment. Lean in, learn to trust in his ways, reach the point in your life where you on the right walk.

It’s not always fun to choose the Lord’s ways as they usually run opposite of our emotions and feelings. Still, as you start to experience joy from the right decisions and behavior, from walking on the right side of the street, you will find the right choices get much easier and the rewards undeniable.

Pray for strength and wisdom in your walk, you’ll be amazed at the places you’ll go! Thanks for being here today, and as you start your week, may you be blessed abundantly. 🥰

Patiently Waiting…

I just started reading the book of Judges. The synopsis spoke of the older generation have returned to their forefathers and of the younger generation turning from the Lord’s warnings and teachings and doing it their ways. These ways, of course, led to destruction. I was sitting here this morning judging them for their stupidity…the laws were there, the examples were set by the elders, history had been taught! So why did the younger generation depart from the ways of old?

They were probably old-fashioned, stringent, boring, and complex. We, as young adults, think we know better! We can do it faster, easier, less complicated and with a whole lot more fun!! Those of us who are now older know there is nothing farther from the truth.

I went to Sunday school, attended church as a teen became a young adult with God always a significant focal point in my spirit; however, my life and walk certainly didn’t reflect him, his laws, nor the teachings of the Bible and ways of old. Just like the youthful Israelite generation, I wanted to do it my way, the easy way, the fun way. The path to destruction!

Genesis 28:15 NIV “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you.”

This is our blessing of Grace! Our Lord loves us, yesterday, today and tomorrow. He loves us if we are toeing the line or walking a broad circle. He knows what’s best for us even when we don’t and is standing there arms wide open just waiting for us to walk back into them.

Don’t ever be afraid you’ve gone too far, reached too low, or have done too bad! He will meet you wherever you are! He is patient, kind and loving, quick to forgive, and most willing to heal. You need to turn around, turn it around and step back in; He’s there patiently waiting.

May you be blessed today and be a blessing today. Thank you as always for joining me. It’s Sunday, God’s Day ❣️❣️ Share some Love…

Passover…

At sundown tonight starts the Jewish celebration of Passover!

The term “Passover” was just that, the angel of death passing over every home that had lambs’ blood splashed over their doorways. In the book of Exodus (a mass departure of people, especially emigrants). God heard the prayers of his oppressed people, living and being treated as slaves, and delivered them from Egypt’s land and the Egyptians’ cruel hands.

This departure did not come without a fight from the Pharaoh, and as a result of his hardened heart and stubborn pride, God sent the final plague, and that was an angel of death to kill the firstborn sons of all the Egyptians.

I am reminded of another death, mine, and yours! Is your name going to be written in the book of life, or are you going to be passed over?

The world is fun, and being held to not much accountability is even more so! If it feels good, do it! Just live and let live! To each their own! Love, Peace, Harmony, Unity, Worshipping Freedom in Everything for Everyone! It’s o.k.; you’re ok, I’m ok. But are we?

I look at our world; I listen to the news, hell is rising fast, and if we are prideful, stubborn, and refuse to listen or notice the signs, we might miss our exodus!!!

“God My Father in Heaven, I come before you today, asking for your help in laying down my pride. I am tired of feeling lost, scared, and uncertain. I am laying me at your feet. I believe that you love me so much you sent your one and only son to die on the cross for my sins. I accept this sacrifice of love and ask for more of your love each and every day. I am a sinner and I need your help. I don’t want to be passed over upon Jesus’ return and wish for my name to be written in your book of life that I may spend eternity with you. I thank you and in faith as small as a mustard seed I believe. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen!

One day a loud trumpet will blast and Jesus will appear in the sky, and those of us who believe will depart from this earth in the greatest exodus ever…please, don’t be passed over!

Be blessed, be a blessing and thank you for joining me. 🥰
