Jehovah Rapha…The God Who Heals!!!

I have a few friends who fight every moment of every day with health and physical battles. I pray for them daily. I pray to my healer, my God…Jehovah Rapha ❤️ This is for you: Sister, Cakes, Dolly, Hummingbird, and All who suffer pain and illness.

The origin of the name Jehovah Rapha (Ra-fa) can be traced back to two words used in the old testament and, when combined, mean “God who heals.”

Jehovah, which is derived from the Hebrew word Havah which can be translated as ‘to be,’ ‘to exist’ or ‘to become known.’ The Hebraic translation of Rapha means ‘to restore’ or ‘to heal.’ (Christianity.com)

God the Father; Heals in the Old Testament ~

God first reveals himself to the Israelites after their exodus out of Egypt. Exodus 15:26 NCV “He said, ‘You must obey the Lord your God and do what he says is right. If you obey all his commands and keep his rules, I will not bring on you any of the sicknesses I brought on the Egyptians. I am the Lord who heals you.”

Jeremiah 30:17a NCV “I will bring back your health and heal your injuries,’ says The Lord,”

Jesus Christ ~ The Great Physician of the New Testament ~

Matthew 4:23 NCV “Jesus went everywhere in Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, preaching the Good News about the kingdom of heaven, and healing all the peoples diseases and sicknesses.”

Mark 5:34 NCV “Jesus said to her, ‘Dear woman, you are made well because you believed. Go in peace; be healed of your disease.”

Matthew 8:1-3 NCV “When Jesus came down from the hill, great crowds followed him. Then a man with a skin disease came to Jesus. The man bowed down before him and said, ‘Lord you can heal me if you will.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man and said, ‘I will, Be healed!” And immediately the man was healed from his disease.”

Lord Jesus, I bow before you this morning, praying the same prayer as the man of long ago afflicted with leprosy. I know you can heal and I know your will is to heal. By the stripes inflicted on your back we are healed, By your sacrifice on the cross we are saved. I look up to you, Lord, this morning and ask that you would please take away the pain, suffering, and diseases that tear at the bodies of those I love and mostly whom you love. I thank you, Lord Jesus, for being with them and granting them comfort, peace, and restored health. I thank you for You as where would we be without you…on our way to hell, that’s where. Thank you for saving us and those still yet to be saved. In your glorious name I pray with thanksgiving. Amen 🙏

I hope today’s devotion resonates with you, and if you need healing, you will turn to the Great Physician. The walk may be longer then you hoped or anticipated, don’t give up, don’t give in. Amongst the pain press into Jesus’ arms of comfort. When it looks like never, remember ever! (Ever~def: ‘at any time’)

Be blessed, and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Today I Pray…

Good Morning Father God,

I come to you this morning with hope! You are the author of hope and have instilled it in our hearts to carry.

I lift up those to you this morning who have lost their hope, those who don’t feel as tho they have any hope left, the hopeless! I pray Lord that they would come to know you, to see your face and light in their place of darkness. Fill them with your spirit Lord Jesus where hope abounds.

I ask Lord that you would put someone in their path to gently speak your words of life and of hope! With you by our side Lord Jesus no matter how bleak, dank and empty we feel or our scenery appears you are the ray of sun breaking through the clouds.

I pray for those who are paralyzed by fear and are afraid to take any steps let alone one closer to you! I pray for those who have taken too many wrong steps and are now lost; thank you for leading us back to you and allowing us to walk on your path of righteousness.

Your word tells us that you will never leave or forsake us! Please, help us to hear these words and take them into our hearts and allow them to grow into Faith…faith that moves mountains, faith that heals our minds bodies and souls. Faith that when we pass from this earth we awaken to a new glorious life with you!

A life that is never again dark, painful, scary, hurting, mean, scarred, shallow, empty, void or lonely. A life full of sun, love, beauty, acceptance, peace, kindness, health and lots and lots of laughter!

A life with you Jesus.

So, until the day we walk up there with you on the streets of gold, thank you for walking down here with us on the streets of tar!

In your glorious name Lord Jesus I pray with humble thanksgiving for all that is good in my life as it is from you. Amen 🙏

I pray you are blessed today and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Mourning…

To mourn is the expression of deep sorrow at the death of something! The death of a loved one, a pet, a relationship, a career, a way of life. An end!

Matthew 5:4 NIV “Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.”

Death brings with it change that usually begins devastatingly but is also a new beginning, a fresh start! For the Christian and the believers of Jesus Christ, death in the flesh is new life in heaven.

2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun.”

John 16:22 NLT “So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy.”

Revelation 21:4 NLT “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All of these things are gone forever.”

Mourning is a path all have to take; in the flesh, we walk that path alone as our bodies, minds, and emotions wrap around the new and different. Mourning can’t be timed or judged as we each process in our own way and speed. We, as friends or family, can offer love and support quietly in the background as we send up daily prayers for their healing and the new dawn that awaits.

Psalm 34:18 NLT “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted; he rescues those who’s spirit is crushed.”

I leave in a few hours to join a family and friends who are in mourning. I will offer hugs, memories, love and prayer for these special people who have lost someone so very special.

My Aunt Donna as for you…I know where you are! I know you are in heaven with those who you have missed and longed to see! I know you are dancing and laughing, that infectious giggle that was just yours. I mourn for you and yours today but I know I will see you again! XO

The greatest comfort we can have when we’ve lost a loved one in death is the comfort that through Jesus we’ve only lost temporarily! I hope you have found some comfort in these words, even if you aren’t in a season of mourning, that they will remain in the recesses of your mind if or when the day comes you find yourself having to say goodbye!

Be blessed today, and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Change is Inevitable…

I take my pre-teens home today and come away knowing change has happened, not that that is a bad thing… it’s an inevitable thing!

I am on the doorstep of turning sixty-one, and I have noticed a few more lines on my face, slight more sag, and know I am growing through a physical age change…this too is inevitable!

I am attending a memorial tomorrow for a woman I grew up knowing and loving as Aunt Donna, she and my mother were young women together, the friendship they shared was always an adventure, especially for us kids in toe behind. Tomorrow I will share memories, hugs, and tears with her children, who, like me, are now grandparents. Time marches on…its inevitable.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NCV “There is a time for everything and everything on earth has it’s special season. A time to be born and a time to die. There is a time to plant and a time to pull up plants. There is a time to kill and a time to heal. There is a time to destroy and a time to build. There is a time to cry and a time to laugh. There is a time to be sad and a time to dance. There is a time to throw away stones and a time to gather them. A time to hug and a time not to hug. There is a time to look for something and a time to stop looking for it. There is a time to keep things and a time to throw things away. There is a time to tear apart and a time to sew together. There is a time to be silent and a time to speak. There is a time to love and a time to hate. There is a time for war and a time for peace.”

We are but human beings passing through our seasons. I appreciate the season of life that I am in; for the most part, it’s a peaceful season, but we know amongst the sun a few clouds will gather, and the rain will fall… it’s inevitable.

Within this circle of life is constant change… it’s inevitable! What you do with or where you go with those changes is up to you! I don’t care for change and often try and fight it…does me no good! So, I walk with the creator of life and change, asking for his peace and direction as my horizons begin to appear different and the inevitable change has begun to shake my ground.

Psalm 16:8 ESV “I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”

So, whether you are engaged in a storm of change! Find yourself in the middle of a whirlpool of change! Or, maybe only in a slight wrinkle of change, whatever your season is, hold onto the hand of the creator. He makes the terrain so much easier…Trust Me 😉

Be blessed today, try and be a blessing and thank you for sharing time with me. 🥰

God Never Changes…

I just got home from my mini-adventure with my two oldest grandchildren. The often joyous thing about an adventure is all the new things you discover; more often, our adventures are kin to what we know or have already experienced and wish to do again.

I began our adventure excited to reenact the past visits, including the Magic Quest Mystery you have to solve. It consists of the first five floors of the resort and many clues, talking pictures, trees that offer hints, and treasure chests that magically opens to reveal wisdom gems.

Through the years, we’ve advanced to higher levels where the clues are trickier and solving is much harder! Swords packed, we are off!!! However, grandmas idea of fun didn’t seem to match my pre-teens, and the magic quest held no appeal! I am human and will admit to feeling crushed and very disappointed.

As I sat and watched them swim and tackle the rope obstacle course, I realized another stage has passed; change has once again happened, and as I have had to pack up the Disney ball gowns and princess movies, the pirate’s hats and wooden swords, I now have to put away the magic wands. I am sad, but with the passing of one stage, we move into another.

As I have been putting these emotions and feelings into their proper boxes for storage, I am reminded of all the changes in my life, both good and bad, and find myself most thankful that my Lord never changes;

Hebrews 13:8 NCV “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”

Isaiah 40:8 NCV “The grass dies and the flowers fall but the word of God will live forever.”

He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and on this, we can count on, rely on and set our adventures on!

Be blessed today and thank you for joining me I’ve missed being here. ❤️😌

Today I Pray…

Dear Lord Our Father In Heaven,

Holy is your name and sanctuary. We honor you this morning with a heart of thankfulness. We who belong to you walk in a different realm and we thank you for this place. We live amongst the weeds and turmoil, but in your strength, we can rise above.

Thank you, Lord, for the inner knowledge that you are always with us; even as we pass through this valley of death and darkness, you are the light that keeps us going.

You are our living hope for the day when you return, and we rise to join you. We long for the day when we walk beside you and chat, or we see you across the way, and you smile and wave! Where all lives matter, and there is no longer illness, sadness, or darkness! The day when we live in your whole radiant light.

You have given us glimpses of the beauty that awaits. The array of colors you’ve blessed the flowers. The regal beauty of the trees as they stand guard like sentries day and night—the beautiful song of the birds and the joyful giggle of the streams.

You have shown us your mightiness in the pounding waves of the ocean, your furry within the tornado, your power strong enough to split the seams of our earth, yet you cradle us in your arms as gently as a newborn.

We know how to love, and you have given our hearts the ability, yet even in our purest form, we cannot even come close to feeling the love you feel for us! We as humans aren’t capable of coming close to the depth of love within you that you hold for us!

You are the God of the universe, and yet you knew every one of our names. You are still chasing those who run from you, still seeking those who have gotten lost and gently picking up those who have fallen.

I thank you for this morning, My God, My Savior, My Holy Spirit, for loving us as we are, never letting us remain there, and never giving up on us! For your love and for the knowledge that we never walk alone I pray with a humble, grateful heart. In your name Lord Jesus, Amen

God’s Names…Jehovah Nissi

Nissi in Hebrew means “banner,” and we’ve already learned Jehovah means Lord, God!

Jehovah Nissi ~ The Lord My Banner!

When I first learned of this particular name, I wasn’t overly impressed; my God, my flag, hmmm!!! I have since come to learn and appreciate the meaning and symbolism behind the banner.

Banner: A piece of cloth attached by one edge of a staff used by a monarch or feudal lord. A device displaying a distinct symbol. Prominent support of a political party. They are distinguished from all others, especially in excellence.

Exodus 17:14-16 NLT “After the victory, the Lord instructed Moses, ‘write this down on a scroll as a permanent reminder, and read it aloud to Joshua: I will erase the memory of Amalek from under heaven.’ Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh-Nissi (which means ‘the Lord is my banner’). He said, ‘They have raised their fists against the Lord’s throne, so now the Lord will be at war with Amalek generation after generation.”

Take yourself back in time to a place where gladiators walked, and kingdoms each had a ruling monarch. To identify and represent their kingdoms, they had colors and symbols on flags, flying high on the giant walls that surrounded them in safety.

When the feuding lords went into battle, they carried their banners and flags. In fact the poor flag bearers were the first line! The stronger your kingdom, the more fierce your wins, the more feared your banner was!

Are you facing a battle? Are you at war with your health, finances, addictions, upcoming decisions or choices? Is your spiritual world under attack, and it seems as tho the arrows of fire keep landing on your doorstep, and you are worn down just putting them out?

Then stop! Go to your throne room, lay your battles at the Lord’s feet and ask him to be your banner. Then put on your Armor of God, go out, and fight your battles with the Lord on the front line giving you the strength to do your part and his protection surrounding all your parts.

Ephesians 6:14, 15, 16 & 17…Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground with: The belt of truth buckled around your waist, putting on the breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the gospel of peace, carry the shield of faith and wield the sword of the spirit which is the word of God!

You see, you have the mightiest banner in the kingdom. You are a winner in Christ Jesus. He paid the price; we win, read the book!

Be blessed today and thank you for joining me. 🥰

Started Immediately…

Good morning; I am sorry I woke up at 2:45 this morning and struggled to find sleep again; when repose finally arrived, I then slept in way past my routine, and no sooner had I finished my devotions than the phone started ringing.

My path veered in a different direction, and my mind is off track! I would have felt rushed with delivering my message, and I owe you and God more respect than that…

Be blessed today and I will see you tomorrow! 🥰

God’s Names…Yahweh, Lord Jehovah

Yahweh, the name for the God of the Israelites, representing the biblical pronunciation of “YHWH,” the Hebrew name revealed to Moses in the book of Exodus. Thus the tetragrammaton of “YHWH” – Yahweh and “JHWH” – Jehovah. (Brittany’s.com)

Yahweh or Jehovah – The Lord

Jehovah is God’s name; Lord is the title, many use about God. Jehovah is Gods formal name. Lord is just a title or a substitution for where Jehovah’s name was originally used. (Quora.com)

Exodus 3:15 NLT “God also said to Moses, ‘Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh,*the God of your ancestors-the God of Issac, and the God of Jacob-has sent me to you.” *Yahweh(also in 3:16) is a transliteration of the proper name YHWH that is sometimes rendered Jehovah; in this translation it is usually rendered The Lord…

So, whether you wish to address him by his formal name of Jehovah or the ancient Hebrew translation of Yahweh! Or, you may still feel more comfortable calling him by his title, which is Lord! You are talking to God! The God of creation, of man, heaven and earth! Of you and I, Our God!

Yahweh, The Ancient of Days! Jehovah, my Lord, My God! I love you and thank you for the beautiful teachings into all of who you are; thank you for showing us all the many facets of you that we may draw closer as we dig deeper!

Be blessed this day and thank you as always for joining me. 🥰
