Coincidences…Luck???

What or whom gets the credit when things happen in your Christian walk of faith or the lives of the people you pray for?

When you found that surprise $20 in the pocket of last year’s winter coat just when the gas tank was empty, and so was your wallet? Was that luck, a coincidence, or the Lord supplying an urgent need? Although you put the money there, it was forgotten until the perfect moment!

You are running through the house frantically looking for your car keys, late for work, and still have to drop the kids off…only to come upon a major accident you could have been involved in? Was that luck, a coincidence, or God’s protection?

You were in a major vehicular accident, and the vehicle was totaled, yet you walked out without a scratch! Luck, a coincidence, or God’s mighty hand upon you?

Romans 8:28 NLT “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

Everything! That means if we get off track, make a mistake, or make wrong life choices, we don’t have to hope for the planets to align, win the lottery or get lucky. God’s word tells me he will work all things together for our good. He will always put us back on track for the good of those who love him.

Proverbs 19:21 ESV “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”

The purpose of the Lord that will stand!

This brings me much peace, knowing I can never mess up bad enough that the Lord can’t undo what I did…that my life isn’t a crap shoot or a roll of the dice.

I have lived by theses mottos and raised my children by this standard!

We are not lucky; We are blessed!

If we didn’t win, we learned!

So, the next time a funny little coincidence happens, a calamity misses you, or lady luck smiles upon you…rethink its origin and give God a thank you.
