It’s here, the Christmas season! I love this time of year, this is my favorite holiday. The birth of the greatest gift given to mankind.
Isaiah 9:6 ESV “For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
There is much within this verse but today I am focused on the ‘Prince of Peace’
Can you feel it? There’s a different feeling in the air, there’s a kindness about. People seem to smile more, hold the door for a stranger, smile and nod as you pass on the sidewalk. In some regions, the snow falls creating a Currier and Ives landscape lending to the atmosphere.
The stores are full of bright colors and lights while music we all know and love plays over the speakers. Things have a brighter glow and sparkle, houses are adorned with cheerful decor and the smell of baking fills the air.
For unto us a child was born, the Prince of Peace…
Within all the hustle and bustle, shopping, juggling, and planning. As you bake, wrap and decorate, take a moment or two to feel the peace in the air, listen to the words within the songs and share your warmth with those around you.
It’s the Season…May love and peace fill your heart and spirit and I pray you to recognize where it derives.
Thank you God for the sacrificial gift of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Because, He is the true reason for this Season. I love you! ❤️
