Reflection: an image seen in a mirror or shiny surface; serious thought or consideration. (Oxfordlanguages.com)
I’ve been in a season of reflection and have come to the realization very seldom do we see ourselves correctly. We can see ourselves better than we are and that’s a lie…we can see ourselves lower than we are and that too is a lie. So what is the truth?
Reflect! Ponder! Ask!
Does your spirit feel off? Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal that which is within, that you can’t seem to grasp. Do you walk in pride and alone because you are your own best friend? Do you walk with your head bowed, silent and obscure because someone or life has made you feel small and insignificant?
Do you see yourself through the lens of your mistakes? Do you view yourself through your accomplishments? Have you forgotten the steps you’ve taken and only see the ones still left to climb?
We all need to reflect on our growth and stride as it is essential for continued growth. Pick up your pom-poms and give yourself a cheer. Make a list of where you were a year ago and where you are today! It’s ok to be proud of positive growth!
2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
Note, one degree! Not one giant leap, not one big jump, not one large free fall! One small degree at a time. Take the time to reflect on your strides forward and be proud of yourself. Take the time to reflect on that still left to accomplish and remember One Degree!
As I mentioned, I’ve been in a state of reflection, from the growth in my ‘retrain my brain’ resolution to the rereading and rewriting past devotions. Taking my desired changes daily to the Lord for his assistance. We can’t stop growing or we get stagnant and turn to mush! I don’t want to wind up a lump of flesh in a chair. I want to grow, go and be a part of life!!!
Philippians 4:13 NLT “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Will you join me? Be blessed and be kind to yourself today! And as always, thank you for sharing some of your time with me. ❤️🥰
