There is not one of us over the age of ten that haven’t sent the simple question out into the cosmos, Why?
I was listening to Ed Taylor, Calvary Chapel / Aurora, Co. via U-tube the other evening while eating dinner on my back patio and he was speaking of needing added faith!
He suggested rather than moaning and groaning over the problem, to take it to God! Ask him, “what might I learn from this, how am I to grow through this and rather then fight everything, Lord please fill me with extra added faith to trust you to get me through this and through this a champion not the defeated mess I feel right now.”
He addressed the issue of being in situations within our lives where we aren’t happy, comfortable, feel as though we haven’t any control nor at peace. We as humans tend to grumble when in areas of discomfort and strife, but rather than grumbling, we should seek the Lord in prayer for added faith to get us through whatever season He has us in, to help us understand.
His words resonated within me as he spoke, and sure enough, the very next day, I was slammed into a situation where I could cry, gripe, whine and once again ask God, “Why?” and I did just that, old habits die hard. Still, then I remembered Ed’s words, and I changed my vocabulary; I changed my prayer!
“Lord, I don’t know why? I’ve asked for so long I no longer ask I just sadly wonder! Please fill me with the added faith I need to trust in you because your word never fails and I know you have plans for me and that you see each tear that falls. Thank you for strength, peace and joy running through me from head to toe.” Amen
A little while later, I smiled as I noticed while I puttered that quiet had entered my spirit, gently and ever so quietly.
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I live by this scripture and it’s a good one to pack in your arsenal because there are some days the plan feels far off, some days the future looks bleak! Never lose hope as the Lord’s word never returns void!
So, possibly the next time you find yourself in an incident or are in a situation that often doesn’t make any sense, ask the Lord for understanding, and for added faith!
He’s got you and He’s got me…We’ve got this!!! Thank you for joining me. 🥰
