It’s Saturday…

The sky is a bright blue, it’s Saturday, and that’s a play day! There always seems to be an air of play on Saturdays.

I have a dear friend who just messaged our small group asking for prayer as she and her husband are trying to get out the door to a road trip…We all know how fun those times can be!

Dear Lord Our Father In Heaven,

I thank you for this day. I ask Lord that your Holy Spirit would reign in our hearts today. Blessing us with a peaceful freedom from the inside out. I ask Lord that you would replace the darkness with your loving light.

I ask that you remove the tension between spouses, friends, co-workers, and siblings. That you will send an air of lightness, breezy and fresh into our dry souls. Refresh us with your life-giving waters, that our thirst be quenched and our skin renewed.

Fun, Lord, I would ask for lots and lots of fun today, whether it be casting a pole by a lake or stream. You are washing nose prints off the glass doors so the sun can shine in through clean windows. Racing down the highway to a son’s college graduation or your last competition dance with a group you are saying goodbye to! Or better yet, the excitement of gathering with your scrapbooking friends you haven’t seen in over a year! Whatever the case, bring to us your spirit of fun.

Let laughter be heard through our land today Lord, as there have been too many tears of late. Let peace and strength fill a childhood friend as she just had to say goodbye to her mom. Let her know that you have my Aunt Donna wrapped in your loving arms, and she’s whole and perfect again.

Lord, please just be with us today. Could you help us to slow down, smell the colorful array of flowers, admire the vibrant green of the grass and gaze at the beautiful blue sky with the puffy white clouds lazily floating by?

Create a picture within us and help us carry it all day! I thank you for your love every day and that as we walk, you walk with us.

In your glorious name Lord Jesus I pray these things. Amen
