A Mother’s Song…

As some of you know I was a single mother for thirteen years! My oldest was three and a half, the middle one was two and a half, and my youngest was six months old when I set out with the three of them, our little red wagon piled high.

I remember vividly driving the twenty mile trek from work that night to my mom’s house where my children were safely tucked in bed. The moon was full and rising over a mountain peak called Harris.

Looking at the moon, I said a prayer. The exact words are unremembered, but the gist was, “Lord, here we go! I am scared and ask for you to be with my babies and me as we start this new journey together.”

Fast forward twenty years and said babies are young adults and they are learning as we did, life is hard and your choices have a way of teaching some serious lessons. There were times as we all have experienced financial difficulties, automobile expenses, etc.

I would stand on a scripture that I will share in a minute, saying a prayer to God that he would honor my tithe money that I would be sharing with my child (at the time), as right now, they were my mission.

Fast forward another twenty years and said babies are now adults with children and lives of their own. The family has experienced many battles, but there has been one of late where I have been blessed to witness my three children gather, surround, and protect. Their support and love have blessed me incredibly.

My heart is so full of pride for my three beautiful children, as the Lord instructs us to raise them in the way they should go. Proverbs 22:6 NLT “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.” We can raise with verbiage all we want, but our children learn by example.

1 Timothy 5:8 ESV “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

I raised my children that God and family always come first. I watch them raise their children in the ways they should go! I’m very proud of my children, they learn from their mistakes, love God and honor their mom. ☺️ I am blessed, and this is my song!

Thank you for joining me and may you be blessed today! 🥰
