In the book of 2 Kings we are introduced to Elisha. He was the prophet who continued the efforts of Elijah in restoring proper worship back to the Israelites. He was a model in teaching righteousness and faith.
He, of course, doing the Lord’s call, taught ways that went against many acts and beliefs of the kings and people around him. He spoke the truth and made many mad as what he said went entirely against their practices and beliefs. The story continues with Elisha’s servant waking one morning to a furious king’s army. Troops, horses, and chariots everywhere.
2 Kings 6:15b NIV “Oh, sir, what will we do now?’ The young man cried.”
2 Kings 6:16-17 NIV “Don’t be afraid!’ Elisha told him. ‘For there are more on our side than on theirs,’ Then Elisha prayed, ‘Oh Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young mans eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.”
I have read accounts that state that within those chariots of fire were Gods might angels…
I love this picture in my mind! When I am faced with an army of trials, the enemy is attacking, or I have a giant in front of me…I visualize that I have a hillside of horses, chariots of fire and an army of Gods angels behind me, just waiting to protect me.
It’s very comforting to know I may walk sidewalks, paths and roads by myself but I never walk alone! Neither do you…
Have a blessed day. I am still on island time with my littlest one. I’m sorry I missed yesterday, thank you for checking in today. 🥰
