What is luck? It isn’t a property; it has no mass; neither is it an object. One definition is “success or failure brought by chance rather than one’s own actions.” or “chance considered as a force that causes good or bad things to happen.”
As I read the last line, God tapped me on the shoulder to reread it, in a different context altogether. Chance is considered a force that causes good or bad things to happen.”
Hmmm, how many times have you heard it said, “God must be punishing me, my life is a wreck.” God must be mad at the world look at all the destruction he’s bringing upon it.” “I must be doing something right I won some money on the lottery ticket yesterday, God must be happy with me.”
God is not a wheel of chance, and he doesn’t sit in heaven on his thrown and throw craps on each of our lives each morning to see what the day is going bring and will we be lucky! Oh No!!! It’s a black marble day for her today, dang…oh, well, maybe she’ll have better luck tomorrow. Who’s Next!!!
No! If you believe that God is in control, then you need to know and remember that he has a plan for your life and mine. I believe I am either blessed or I learn. There is a reason for all that happens to us; it creates who we are.
The infirmity might be keeping you in a place where the Lord can use you as an example of faith or a shoulder of love and empathy. The callous partner who, through the years, has sanded you into something beautiful. The years of a struggle financially that taught you how to be a better steward with your money.
