You know the aged adage, “don’t judge a book by its cover.”
Chaos reigns, and violence rages, agendas are being played out right before our eyes, and like sheep, many are lost, baaing loudly, and have nothing real to say.
We have causes still fought that most don’t remember what they started as; it’s just something to fight about. Our historical monuments and temples are being violated, and people are defamed.
The nightly news just repeats the same stories night after night; I could not tell you the last time something positive was reported. People who are afraid are more manageable, build a fence, tell us it’s going to be just fine, oh, and drink the Kool-Aid. (Jim Jones-Jonestown, Guyana 11/18/1978)
The people in the tenth century didn’t seem to get it any more than us of the twenty-first.
Isaiah 53:1-6 NCV “Who would have believed what we heard? Who saw the Lords power in this? He grew up like a small plant before the Lord, like a root growing in a dry land. He had no special beauty or form to make us notice him. He was hated and rejected by people. He had much pain and suffering. People would not even look at him. He was hated and we didn’t even notice him. But he took our suffering on him and felt our pain for us. We saw his suffering and thought God was punishing him. But he was wounded for the wrong we did; he was crushed for the evil we did. The punishment, which made us well, was given to him, and we are healed because of his wounds. We all have wandered away like sheep; each of us have gone our own way. But the Lord has put on him the punishment for all the evil we have done.”
Isaiah prophesied in the Old Testament about the actions and events that would transpire in the New. He is speaking of Jesus in this whole chapter. The sub-chapter I’m writing from is titled: ‘The Lord’s Suffering Servant.”
I am so glad that in a world of chaos, created by man himself that I don’t have to believe the reports on TV or in the Newspapers. I will listen to God’s report. I will set my eyes on the Lord. I will read and learn and make my own choices. I am not going to be a blind sheep, and Kool-Aid gives me heartburn. Now isn’t the time to just follow the herd but to follow the true Shepherd. Jesus Christ!
Hebrews 13:8 NLT “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
On this, you can stand on. Of this, you can be sure. Be blessed today, I missed you yesterday. Thank you for joining me today. 🥰
