Death, that’s a dark word for a blog called sunshine. I’m not even sure where I am going with this, it’s in the hands of the Holy Spirit. I pray before each blog, asking the Lord; who do you wish to touch today and what do you wish to say and away we go…So here we go!
When we think of death, we think of someone or something dieing. Sadly in the physical realm, yes death means the end of the physical being or it’s previous life form…
Some synonyms are: end, expiration, passing and grave. Still pretty gloomy here Sunshine…But…here are some antonyms: beginning, birth, launch, and morning!!! Good morning!!! it’s a new day, yesterday has passed and is gone. The Lords grace and mercy is new everyday. He’s forgotten your yesterday so, so should you. Unless it was maaawwwvelous then cherish the memories and tuck them away for a rainy day.
When we are to make changes in ourselves or our lives the old has to die away so the new can begin. Is this easy? NO!!! I believe anytime change is involved it’s hard. I personally struggle with change even when it’s change I want.
This death, could it be a move from the place you grew up, where you knew everyone and they knew you to start a new life with your new husband? You’ve graduated from high school and college is looming both exciting and fearful. You’ve graduated from college and the work world awaits big and scary. You’ve accepted a new position and that requires the whole ball of wax change… excruciatingly painful… You’ve just retired and feel a bit lost with what to do with your days!!! All Deaths but All New Beginnings.
Changes within ourselves are the ones that seem to be the hardest…death of attitude, character traits about yourself you don’t care for, a family inherited trait you wish to break, moving to the physical changes we may need to work on, there’s certainly going to be a death there: your eating habits, your exercise routine. I’m not talking the gym, maybe just dance around the kitchen as you clean it. I personally water my flower pots with a little bucket so I have to make many trips to the rain barrel…death of flabby thighs and padded hips.
Spiritually, possibly Our Lord has been tapping you on the shoulder… whispering in your ear something he wishes you to do; check out that church you drove by, call that friend he’s been laying on your heart, pick up your Bible and read a verse or 2…not sure where to go? Start with Psalms…is there a website or two he’s been suggesting you stop visiting, are you a shopper and you need let this spending habit die.
One of my favorite sayings is “If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it”. Are you mourning the loss of a loved one? 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT “All praise to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us”. Psalms 34:18 NLT “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed”
Whether your Death is of the spiritual or physical realm; Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven”. Maybe that little niggle is telling you it’s time. Isaiah 41:10 NLT “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you”. Exodus 15:2 NLT “The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”
If you are mourning the loss of a loved one , I pray for you peace and a little lightness of heart, If you are mourning the junk food isle, I am your partner and understand and will pray for you strength and resolve. If you are mourning the loss of being a couch potato, I pray for your strength and determination. If you are mourning the death of depression, drugs or alcohol, I pray for the proper help and lots of peace and joy in your spirit. If you are mourning your health, I pray for you doctor’s and treatments that are the best and our Lord’s healing upon you. In anything you want to do or even may not want to do but know you must…He is with you always…just look up and say; “Help Me, Please Lord Jesus”. He’s right there! ❤️ No matter how many times a day you may need to look up and say “Help Me”
I pray for you all today, a day of sunshine on your shoulder, peace in your heart, a smile on your face and joy in your spirit. Have a Blessed Day…Thank you for joining me🥰
